18.01.2022 WILL BLACK FRIDAY EVER BE KNOWN AS BRIGHT FRIDAY IN AUSTRALIA? . If you go back 10 years - Black Friday wasn't a huge deal in Australia. It was that sale in the US that would appear in the news once a year showing people clambering over one other to get the best deals in Macys. . Then it started showing up more and more in Australia - and as it grew in popularity, so did the outrage of Australians. I have seen dozens (if not hundreds) of posts in different Facebook groups abo...ut how Black Friday is an 'American Tradition that we don't need in Australia', and how the name means something else here (Black Friday Bushfires). . Fast forward to today, and Kmart are advertising their Bright Friday sale. Honestly - at first I thought 'surely not'! So I Googled it - it's a name that seems to have caught on with a number of retailers in Australia. . So, what do you think? Was the change warranted? Will the name stick in Australia? . Like it or not, Black Friday sales are becoming more and more popular. This weekend, we headed out to an AirBNB on the Scenic Rim for a few days of R and R, but got a little more than we bargained for when we discovered there was no WiFi or phone reception on the property! Three days unplugged felt like five - and now we we all feel refreshed, ready for a new week <3

16.01.2022 What are you reading right now? It must have been five years or more, since I read a book from cover to cover - so it was great to get through James Pattersons 4th of July this past weekend. As an avid reader in a past life (i.e. pre-kids!) reading for enjoyment is something that has unfortunately fallen wayside.... This hasnt stopped me however, from continuing to buy more books, which have been stacked neatly and lovingly refer to as my pile of good intentions! Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new era. Less time spent online, and more time spent reading actual books <3
