24.01.2022 Somerville Family Day was beyond thrilled to pay a gift forward to Jess and her family. Jess has a rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy and is about to spend some time back in hospital. How awesome is it to see siblings spending time together. Life became a little easier when Brenton Alp and his team popped around to build some safe ramps for Jess to access all areas at home. 23.01.2022 With stunning blue skies, warm sun, (actually a perfect day for SOMERVILLE Family Day) we met with Shire to go through how 2021 will look. Each year we try to rethink our space, activities and what we can offer our community and event goers. What will we look like in 2021? We still aren’t 100% sure as the COVID goal posts can move at any moment. So in the mean time we are planning for a COVID SFD. It will be a bit different but still lots of fun. Even a few minor events throughout the year. Stay tuned.

22.01.2022 *Update* Applications for funding are now closed. Thank you to everyone that has applied. The committee will be meeting and assessing our capacity to donate, pending a final assessment of our financial position. All applicants will be contacted directly. ... As we are about to finalise our figures for 2020 (sadly held up by COVID19) we are needing some help! As most of you know each year we donate our profits back to our SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY. We will know in the next week exactly what money is available to donate, having checked we have paid all our bills. With the spiralling costs and having to pay for costly infrastructure we know funds could be limited. For 2020 we only had one nomination for consideration. We are seeking some ideas for consideration how this money could be used within our community. Criteria is to reach, engage and include as many people as possible. Clubs, struggling programs/projects etc. Please send suggestions for consideration to [email protected] Closes April 30 2020.

Stage 3 rules permitting we will be very tight on space re social distancing. We dont know what 2021 will look like as yet. We have lots in place, ready to go, praying the is given. If its not possible we have some AWESOME fun, community based ideas to run through out the year, ready to make 2022 the most magical year ever. Clubs arent just a weekend game, they are made up of amazing volunteers who have community spirit and who mentor our younger members which they will remember for a life time. We were so humbled by Jess and her Mum after reading their application form. Of all the things they could have asked for they asked for a ramp at their front door. After asking around our Community Networking Team we were told BKLA Constructions from SOMERVILLE would love to help. We already knew th...ey were very reputable so SOMERVILLE FAMILY DAY Offered to pay for the job to be done. Brenton from BKLA Constructions offered to donate both labour and materials.
