25.01.2022 THANKYOU To all of our wonderful patients who choose to attend South Morang Dental because of the excellent treatment and friendly service that we provide. We choose not to be "Preferred Providers" for any private health insurance fund, as we believe that many of the funds act unethically and unfairly towards patients. A recent video released by the Australian Dental Association confirms our view that it is time for the government to step in and regulate private health insurance, so that patients are given a fair go. Please view the video below, and again, thank you, for choosing us as your preferred family dentist.

18.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Dental clinics in Australia are currently operating under Level 2 restrictions due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This means that dental clinics are only able to provide some dental treatment, and must avoid or minimise any procedures that are likely to produce aerosols. This restriction limits the treatment we are able to offer and as a result our hours of operation are reduced. We are now open from 8:30am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. A limited number of afternoon ap...pointments are available; please advise our receptionist if you need an afternoon appointment. All appointments must be made by telephoning 9437 9999, so we have temporarily disabled our online booking platform. It is imperative that you tell our receptionist if you are suffering from any of the following symptoms: sore throat, fever, cough, shortness of breath, or diarrhoea. If you have travelled overseas in the last month, you must inform our receptionist. You must also inform us if you have reason to believe that you may have come into contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case, or if you yourself are a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case. We will also ask you to use hand sanitiser on entering and exiting the clinic. And we will get you to do a pre-treatment mouthwash with 1% hydrogen peroxide for 20 seconds at the beginning of your appointment. We aim to do everything possible to keep ourselves, our staff and our patients safe in this difficult and challenging environment. We will also do our best to manage any dental emergencies that our patients may present with.

17.01.2022 You wouldn’t eat 16 teaspoons of sugar, so why drink it? That's the question being asked in a hard-hitting new initiative from Rethink Sugary Drink (of which ...the ADA is a part) which aims to educate people on how much sugar is in the drinks they consume. #16teaspoons ada.org.au/16TeaspoonsCampaign
17.01.2022 Wake up call: Aussie teens are losing out on a good night's sleep due to energy drinks. Rethink Sugary Drink partners, including the Australian Dental Associati...on, are calling for restrictions around the sale and marketing of energy drinks to young people. Some energy drinks contain up to 21 teaspoons of sugar and as much caffeine as two cups of instant coffee. Getting enough sleep is not only important for teenagers’ mental and physical health development; poor sleep habits are also a risk factor for overweight and obesity. Energy drinks are also a major contributing factor to tooth decay and tooth erosion. #Rethinksugarydrink http://www.rethinksugarydrink.org.au//aussie-teens-losing- See more
