03.01.2022 NBN IS ALMOST HERE Just wanted to let our business customers know that with NBN about to be launched in Warrnambool, now is a good time to review your Telephone and Internet plans. You will be bombarded by companies offering new deals. Take the time to examine all the deals. THERE IS NO RUSH! You have up to 18 months once NBN is active to make a decision. Sales people can be pushy and may not let you know ALL of the information that should be available to you. Some will ...even try scare tactics to make you sign-up or commit early. A couple of notes: 1. There are approx 150 service providers on NBN. 2. 99% of existing telephone systems will work on NBN you might need to install an FXO Converter but you generally don't have to replace your existing telephone system. 3. 99% of alarms can have a module added to allow back to base to work on ip or LTE. What's Different about NBN? Currently, all copper cable that your telephone and ADSL services work on are owned by Telstra. If you are with Optus, DoDo, AussieBB, or any other provider they currently lease the copper from Telstra and pay a fee to Telstra for this. Telstra don't have to lease the copper from themselves - So they have a slight advantage. When you have a fault you have to call your provider and ask them to fix it. If you're not with Telstra your provider has to call Telstra and ask for it to be fixed this adds an additional step to the process. On NBN the connection all the way to your NBN NTU (NBN BOX) is owned by NBNco. All Providers have to lease their connections from NBNco. - Providers then. have the same charges and level of agreements. NBNco openly publish their wholesale charge and terms on their website. This means that all providers have the ability to offer you the same level of service regardless of how big or small they are. So, take advantage of what is on offer and see how good of a deal you can get. Feel free to comment on any offer you might have been given so that other businesses in Warrnambool can compare plans and determine what is best for them. Remember! Before signing up to anything read the fine print - Make sure you know what you are signing up to.
