10.01.2022 Dear Tennis NSW Community, Since 15 May when we saw some easing of restrictions by the State Government in NSW, Id like to take the opportunity to thank our te...nnis family in acknowledging and implementing the recommended guidelines. Were also pleased to hear that the resources provided have been well received and that they are assisting you as you have re-opened or plan to re-open your venues and welcome players back to our sport. As you may be aware, further changes are being proposed by the NSW State Government from 1 June. As always, we appreciate that many of you will have questions surrounding what this means for tennis and any possible further changes to the guidelines. Our team are working through this now, together with the State Government and Office of Sport. Our Guidelines are likely to be updated to include the following changes: Clubhouses re-opening, further easing of restrictions to on-court coaching and with the resumption of regional travel, then we would be considering what local and regional tournaments and match play may look like. All of these changes will have to be considered alongside any updates to the Public Health Orders as well. In regards to the resumption of TA sanctioned AR tournaments (AMTs, JTs and JDS), until all borders are open and the ranking system can operate freely, there is currently no date for the resumption of these tournaments. We will be communicating shortly on how Tennis NSW intends to provide competitive opportunities for our playing groups in the next week. All of our collective actions in the past few weeks have led us to a point whereby we are able to resume our sport far quicker than what many of us envisaged a month or so ago. May I thank you again for your support and assistance in helping us achieve this. Regards, Lawrence

10.01.2022 The Federal Government has now announced further restrictions on the community to help combat the spread of COVID-19. This includes the closing of venues that a...ttract large social gatherings including indoor sporting facilities, restaurants and cafes. There are still ways that we can play tennis with some important restrictions to ensure we are operating in a way that adheres to the expert health advice. Important updates in the new guidelines include: Indoor tennis facilities and associated gyms must now close Court hire, individual or small group coaching can continue (max. 4 people) Any gyms or sit down cafeterias associated with any tennis venue must now close Coach operated venues are being asked to consider changes in their day-to-day operation This situation is constantly changing, and Tennis NSW is here to help you with any questions you may have. For tennis to remain open, every one of us needs to play our part. Lets work together to demonstrate a level of social responsibility, so we can keep tennis open and provide an appropriate outlet for the people in our communities when they need it most. To view the updated Community Tennis Guidelines for Continued Play head to - http://ow.ly/v8FE50ySNGt Thank you and stay safe.

06.01.2022 As members may know our courts at Spring St are leased by our club from Blue Mountains Council. The current lease which was for 21 years expires in February next year. Council has proposed to replace the lease with a new licence agreement which is proposed to run for a further 10 years with an option for an additional 11 years (ie. 21 years in total). Negotiations are underway with council to settle the terms of the licence. In the meantime council has advertised its intentio...n to enter into a new agreement and invited comment from the community and also from our neighbours around Spring St. You can help the club by writing to council to express support for the new agreement. Your submission to council only needs to be short and succinct and could simply express a view that the courts are currently well administered for the benefit of the whole community and this should continue if that is your view.
