But the highlight of our week was when we found a real spider on the ceiling in the bathroom - we guessed it must have come to say hello to the spiders they had drawn!

01.01.2022 WHAT THE CHILDREN LOVED THIS WEEK: After reading a book on Reduce, Reuse and Recycling, the Jacaranda 3 Day class were inspired to use recycled boxes to make their own City to play with. Together we looked at maps and different buildings to plan our own city. Each child decided what structure they would like to build and add to the city. We then used our plans and our collected recycling to build, paint and create our very own Jacaranda City. The children demonstrated problem solving, collaboration and innovative thinking while developing their Science, Maths and Literacy skills. Now we get to enjoy playing with our city together!

01.01.2022 We were glad there was a break in the weather for us to practice our Emergency Evacuation procedure today! No dramas for the children at all - they know what is happening and what to do. Hopefully we'll never have to use it in real life, but we have it under control if we do

01.01.2022 WHAT THE CHILDREN LOVED THIS WEEK! Each week the 4 year old classes participate in a gross motor program to learn and practise fundamental movement skills. Today we enjoyed using the extra space in the church grounds to practise our hand and eye coordination, by striking a ball with bat. As the children had already developed this skill, we introduced a new team element, where they had a partner. After they hit the ball, they ran to chase the ball and then swapped places. This is a simple introduction to team sport and the children took delight in celebrating each others big hits and taking turns.
