There i...s no doubt that this traditional song is one of our most valuable historical record. The Ramban Pattu is set of ancient folk songs which retell the life of St. Thomas the Apostle as written in the New Testament apocrypha "The Acts Thomas". The Ramban Pattu is said to have been composed by the first disciple of St. Thomas the Apostle in India. The song was first written down in todays form in the sixteenth century by the Nasrani priest Thoma Ramban Maliakkal.
