17.01.2022 Love musicals, but don't dance? You need to learn! The way the majority of ensemble (chorus/non-lead) roles cast is based on dance AND singing skill, sometimes favouring the former! 11.01.2022 Hi singers! I've been a bit quiet on here due to a very busy start to the year with several vocal groups I direct recently competing at Generations In Jazz. We got to hear Kurt Elling sing during the weekend too which was ridiculously inspirational. I now have a few vacancies for private lessons so please send me a message if you're wanting some help to refine your technique and performance, or just explore your love of singing!

10.01.2022 While I am quite openly opinionated in my dislike for sol-fa, really, it's just the silly names I don't like. The tonic-do system works really well, but I think scale degree numbers 1-7 is much simpler (and then lines up with AMEB theory studies). BUT I just found this Website for learning sight-singing - and if you substitute Do for 1, Re for 2, Mi for 3 etc... I think this is an excellent, methodical, incremental way to learn how to sight sing - and only $30 for the year. http://www.sightsingingschool.com/ I highly recommend this to all students with professional musical aspirations or doing AMEB Musical Theatre or Singing exams with sight-reading elements, or even just students in choirs wanting to learn their music quicker!
