22.01.2022 Important Information for Moorabool Shire Council residents. From 11:59pm on 16 September, regional communities progressed to the Third Step of our reopening roadmap. The industry roadmap includes four steps to easing restrictions and reopening businesses. These steps will be subject to trigger points, determined by our health team to consider any potential changes to the restrictions and will be based on case numbers, testing numbers and other factors.... The trigger points mean that metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria will take steps (and move to associated restriction levels) at different times. Each industry will also have a different restriction level depending on which step metropolitan Melbourne or Regional Victoria is in. As many Victorian businesses reopen, the priority will be the health and safety of workers, volunteers and participants. The guidelines are intended to assist businesses to prepare to safely operate in accordance with the easing of restrictions, while also ensuring the public can feel confident that their health and safety is being protected. Reopening guidelines for Tourism Accommodation, Outdoor Attractions and Experiences, Transport and Tours, Physical Recreation and Hospitality for are now available on the Business Victoria website. 20.01.2022 Around one in five pregnancies ends in miscarriage before 20 weeks. It's not something that's talked about much nor is it formally recognised as either a birth or death. And those who've experienced early pregnancy loss often find themselves dealing with it alone, with no real way of expressing their grief.... This won't be everyone's choice. But hopefully it'll help bereaved parents mourn the child they never got to meet.

Today marks the first day kids and families take a break from remote and flexible learning during Term Three school holidays. Arts Centre Melbourne will keep young Victorians singing, dancing and making music with Move, Make, Create" a series of online workshops and a Choose Your Own Variety special hosted by Ali McGregor with special guests Frank Woodley, The Listies and Dane Simpson. And following the booked-out end to its Term Three online disco, State Library Victoria will keep kids occupied with storytelling workshops and its virtual Storytime Sessions with some of Victoria's best-loved authors. By staying home and staying safe these school holidays, we can all help make sure Victoria is that much closer to reaching COVID Normal and make sure the next school holidays look a little more normal too. 04.01.2022 INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: MAKING SURE OUR KIDS CAN BE THEIR BEST As our state recovers stronger and fairer, we need to make sure every Victorian has the support they need. The Victorian Budget 2020/21 will invest an unprecedented nearly $1.6 billion to make sure students with disability are supported in the classroom through an Australian first Disability Inclusion package.... The record investment will transform support for students with disability in Victorian government schools doubling the number of students receiving extra support in the classroom to 55,000 and is expected to create up to 1,730 jobs across the state by 2025. All schools will benefit from the change, enabling them to better support students who may have previously been ineligible for targeted support such as those with autism, dyslexia or complex behaviours. A world-leading pilot in more than 100 schools will now be rolled out across the state, to identify and respond to the needs of students with disability. This new approach puts the needs of the student at the heart of our response shifting away from current practices and focusing on what a child can achieve, rather than what they can’t. For students, this will mean more opportunities to promote their own strengths, interests and learning needs, and the support they need at school. With additional funding, schools will be able to better plan and adjust support for students throughout all stages of their schooling. New facilitator roles will be established to help schools and families work together through this new approach. Facilitators will bring their expertise and knowledge into classrooms to support students and schools which will be critical in the move towards the new approach. This investment also includes $102.8 million to deliver new resources and support to build the skills and knowledge of our incredible school staff in delivering inclusive education for every student. This will include more than 100 extra staff to provide on-the-ground implementation support and program delivery for schools. The Disability Inclusion package will transform support for students with a disability in Victorian government schools, to ensure every student at every ability can thrive as we continue to build the Education State.

02.01.2022 Bringing new jobs and visitors to the creative capital! The biggest cultural infrastructure project in Australia will transform Melbourne’s creative precinct attracting visitors, creating jobs and establishing vibrant new gardens and creative space in the heart of our city. Premier Dan Andrews and Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson MP for Essendon visited the NGV this week, whose grounds will be opened up to the public as part of the $1.4 billion Melbourne Arts ...Precinct Transformation project Stage 1 fully funded in yesterday’s Victorian Budget 2020/21. A landmark new Gallery NGV Contemporary will be built behind the existing NGV on Southbank Boulevard, amidst a new 18,000 square-metre public garden in the heart of Melbourne Arts Precinct. Melbourne architects HASSELL and New York practice SO-IL won the tender to design the new public garden and this work is well underway. The garden will be vibrant, immersive and ever-changing, not only with the seasons but week-by-week as new plants bloom and cycle. While the design is not yet complete, the artist impressions released today provide a good sense of what visitors can expect from this unique new public space. The public gardens will include a collection of spaces for performances, gathering, installations and festivals as well as providing a new green lung for Southbank one of Australia’s most densely populated suburbs. Introducing a new open public space of this size into the inner city will involve decking over Sturt Street between City Road and Southbank Boulevard. The project also includes support for Arts Centre Melbourne to undertake upgrades at the Theatres Building, and will create more than 5,000 local construction sector jobs and help drive Victoria’s economic recovery. Later phases of the Melbourne Arts Precinct project include a new Centre for Creativity. The Centre will be run by Arts Centre Melbourne with spaces and facilities for Victoria’s small to medium and independent arts sector, a new performing arts gallery and an expanded Australian Music Vault.
