These biscuits are a staple in our family and I can't remember a time when there hasn't been a bunch of ANZAC bikkies in a jar ready for whoever visits to have with their cuppa. Our Anzac Bikkies Baking Box has everything you need to get creative at home in the kitchen. We've included the butter and golden syrup, which you just need to mel...t down and add to your mix. The only thing you'll need to provide is a few tablespoons of boiled water and your oven! Because this kit contains butter, we can only offer it for local area delivery or in-store pick up. Thank you to everyone who made the time to come into the store and pass on your condolences, or who sent in an email or message with your sentiments. I know Margaret will treasure your memories of George. On the drive home from Warwick, Marcus and I stopped to appreciate the huge fields of sunflowers growing on the side of the road. A reminder of life's simple beauty and how we should appreciate each day as it comes.

After all the uncertainty that has happened in the last month, this week was like a little oasis. We took the time to streamline some of our new offerings and improve our delivery services. Heres how well be handling things in our part of the world: - Were offering free shipping in our local area (Brisbane/Samford/Ipswich suburbs) for anyone who is unable or would prefer not to travel to our store.... - For now, our classes are proceeding we offer small class sizes with max 4 people in cake classes and 6 in cupcake classes. Theres plenty of space in our kitchen and it is a clean, inviting environment. - If youre unable to make it to your class, well happily transfer your ticket to a rescheduled/future class. - If your event is postponed, well happily transfer your cake or catering order to a future date. - Well be reiterating and maintaining the personal and professional standards that awarded us a 5-star Food Safety rating. - Well be continuing to source local produce and utilising our network of local suppliers support of small businesses and the local community is important to us now and always. 10.01.2022 ~~ ~~ Last week we received the sad news that, after a long battle with cancer, George Rafanowicz had passed away. George was loved by so many. A father, grandfather, husband and great friend. His joy, humour and smile can't be replicated by anyone else - they were uniquely his.... Marcus and I were fortunate enough to know George for nearly 6 years. What I learnt about George in that time is that he had a knack for turning everyone he met into a friend. Sometimes he would have customers in-store talking for hours, sharing jokes and telling stories. He was genuinely curious and keen to know people. He was an action taker, always busy with a project. He was a talented musician. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. We know there are long-term customers who have forged great friendships with George and Margaret over these past decades, and our love also goes out to you. We will all miss George dearly. Our store will be closed on 23rd November 2020 as we attend George's funeral service. A card is available in store for anyone who wishes to write their condolences to be passed on to Margaret. If you can't make it in-store, you can email us at [email protected] and we can print and include your note with the card.

08.01.2022 Today Leslie and I experimented with our ANZAC bikkie recipe and found a winner for our gluten-free friends. We subbed out rolled oats for quinoa, which is a little finer but still gives that crunchy texture you know and love. Add an extra serve of golden syrup and we legit cant tell the difference in flavour. They are YUM. You can purchase the gluten-free version of our baking box or baking mix online now. Just select the drop down menu and changing from regular to gluten-free on the product page.

Even though weve sold these products for years, most people probably didnt know about it because wed weigh them up in our bakery area on request. Until now it hasnt been a focal part of our business and we didnt even have them all listed on our product registry. After seeing the empty shelves at the supermarkets yeste...rday I thought it was about time to make sure these products were available to anyone who needed them. Our available ingredients include Freshly milled pure icing sugar White sugar Glucose Yeast Plain Flour Premium vegetable shortening Cadbury chocolate (dark, milk and white buttons) Rose spirit Sugar glue Royal Icing Ready to use frosting Cake mixes in a whole range of flavours (including vegan!) Of course, its so important to be informed and keep abreast of the latest information coming from valid sources. We need to check in on each other and lend a hand where we can. I also believe that once youve got the information and the facts, continuing to submerge yourself in a news cycle like this one can bring anxiety and fear above a...nd beyond what is necessary - especially if youve already followed all the advice and taken all the actions you can take. We can respond to what is in front of us and plan for what is to come, but if youre struggling to deal right now it is OK to take a breather from this crazy 24/7 news cycle. I took this photo of one of the boxes because it showed so clearly how our recipes can be broken down in to clearly identifiable ingredients. To me, that is the difference youll find when you shop locally from a bespoke small business, compared to the often heavily processed foods (with mysterious ingredients) that you can purchase from larger retailers. When you buy from a s...mall business, this is what you purchase. Real food, made by people who care. We care so much, sometimes even too much (other small business owners will get me here). 03.01.2022 Marcus older brother and his beautiful wife have been trying to start a family for 8+ years. After fighting through cervical cancer, numerous IVF treatments, travelling the globe and finally finding a surrogate here in Brisbane, they have a little one on the way. BUT THE STORY GETS MORE AMAZING because when their surrogate reached the 7-week mark... they also found out that they were 14 weeks along. NO ONE thought this was possible it is a bona fide miracle. IN A FEW SHO...RT MONTHS THEY WILL HAVE TWO BABIES. This is probably the most miraculous, unbelievable, exciting thing to have happened in our family. Pretty much ever. So I made them some doughnuts.
