25.01.2022 Brisbane - my beautiful city. The city lights, the river, the bridges - a lovely tableau for our last Friday night Christmas party cruise.

25.01.2022 Am officially on Christmas holidays as the office has closed but don’t think it’s sunk in yet as don’t normally work Monday’s and Tuesdays anyway. Loads of running around yesterday with groceries and last minute items.

22.01.2022 Two weeks until the IITB drive starts - drop off at any Bunnings. Here is a story from the StD Facebook page - It’s important you understand just how important these kind donations are to the women who receive them. So today, we’re going to share with you a story about one beautiful soul whose burden was lightened the day she had a bag arrive for her. This is the kind message she sent us: "Dear all involved,... Today I became the recipient of a Dignity Bag. I want to wholeheartedly thank all involved in this project. It's difficult to express what it means to me, far beyond the practicalities of the gift itself. There are items I'm desperately in need of, as well as really thoughtful, generous gifts - like a pair of pretty pink earrings and nail polish. There's also a Christmas card with a note from Nicky included. The encouraging words touched my heart and, along with the gift itself, gave me a priceless and much needed sense that someone cares, and, just maybe, there's hope after all. My situation at the moment involves chronic illness, disability, depression, anxiety and PTSD. As a result, I have no income, am homeless and can only access a public health system I've already exhausted in my attempts to find help. I'm also grieving a relationship breakdown and have been unable to see a light at the end of the tunnel, so this bag was heaven-sent, coming at just the right time. It's so much more than just a bag of gifts to someone like me. I'm not usually a person to lose hope, but I'm overwhelmed by the consistent knocks life has sent my way over the last decade. I'm writing this because I want to sincerely thank you, but also to let you know that your work is not in vain, and it really has touched my life and helped me. I recognise that it can be hard when you don't directly see the results of your efforts, so I hope that you will be encouraged by my story, knowing that there are so many other stories out there, and women who matter.........

21.01.2022 Yesterday’s outfit needed comfort that I could go from work then out to a casual dinner with friends- swapped out the heels for kicks. Styling You The Label pants with Motto top Put a few words in the story about photo two (apart from me looking like a giant - what the!!). Anyway I digress - we are all part of a Kythera Girls group. We all had been friends or clients (or both) with ‘let’s call him Bob’ for many many years. Bob had been my hairdresser on and off over a 30 y...ear period (he did my wedding hair too), and everyone of us had a similar story. Bob was getting married on Kythera/Kythira in the Greek Islands and we all went. It was a great trip and we all met there or got reacquainted. Anyway without details the friendships with Bob have gone but our ‘girls’ friendships have stayed strong. Always a loud, laughter filled, warm and enjoyable time with these lovely ladies.

20.01.2022 Who is a platform lover? I bought these Brazilio platforms when recently up at Noosa and today was debut. I can vaguely remember wearing a pair of Mums as dress ups - so I don’t have the ‘done them once not doing them again’ excuse. Have to admit I was a little careful walking around as I can roll an ankle or fall over on flat ground but home now in one piece. 20.01.2022 Throwback photo from May 2016 as I’m not getting dressed up today. I can still remember buying this skirt. Back in the day @sacha_drake would have warehouse sales. This one time I was third in the line up but could see i was the first size 14 so was excited. Raced into the sale when roller door went up and found the 14 racks. There was only ONE of this skirt on the rack so held into it for dear life. I did buy other pieces but this one stays with me - even if now too snug around that waistline to wear at present. Adore the print and the style xxx

16.01.2022 Lunch today with friends - pretty much our annual catch up. I met Rex and Jenny April 1999 when I started working for Rex in his HR/Recruitment business and we are all just family now. Unfortunately Rex and his wife Deb (sitting next to me) have not been able to come home from Melbourne most of the year so are really enjoying catching up with everyone. Always a catchup of laughs and reminiscing of the 12/13 years that we worked together.

13.01.2022 Cool and comfy needed today. Our thoughts were to head in Mt Mee general direction but didn’t make it. Headed out the Gap way stopping at lookouts as we found them. Spot of rally car driving at one spot which had me a little worried but we survived. Got as far at Samford Village with lunch at the Samford Hotel, photo op and then came home the ‘normal’ route - a lot quicker. 13.01.2022 Grabbed a quick photo before jumping in the car this morning for drive home. Trip up to Bundy was 4 by taking but home trip was 5 hours - boy that Sunny Coast to Brisbane strip is awful. For car comfort chose both tee and pants from Styling You The Label and FRANKiE4 footwear sandals.

12.01.2022 Invite to this evening's Xmas event for Styling You stated 'poolside glam' so when I saw this Sacha Drake dress recently it was a winner. Beautiful print, shape and so very comfortable. Orange flats and earrings I made as I was literally walking out the door. 12.01.2022 Back again for #thursdaytellusyourstory with @retiring_not_shy and @melisainoz I remember this period in my life like it was yesterday. This was my hair 6 years ago. I visited the oncologist to find out the breast cancer treatment plan and his comment was ‘well you’ll get a free haircut’ meaning the chemo would make my hair fall out. So I thought I’d be proactive. It really is cruel - bad enough to need surgery on your breasts but then the treatment makes your hair fall out... - double whammy on your femininity. Anyway when I knew the timing for my first chemo I visited my hairdresser at the time and he suggested a staggered approach. 1. He curled it lovely the Thursday before as a last hurrah 2. On the Saturday he cut off my ponytail into the short wavy style 3. On the Sunday he cut into a pixie style (and my beautiful girlfriend Jo surprised me to be there and had her hair cut too in support - very emotional day). Then a few days after the first chemo my hair started to fall out. I can still remember sitting in the bath asking Anthony to shave my head as the clumps coming out looked awful so a clean scalp it was. I primarily wore a wig except at home or with friends the scarf was simpler. I do miss my long hair but admit it was a lot of work - short hair is so much easier to handle.

12.01.2022 Such a muggy day here is Brisbane today - had to go sleeveless - with a lilac and navy combo. First outing of this current range Motto blue leatherette tube skirt with a slightly older cowl neck top from Style Me Luxe I did take a tumble this evening in our driveway - bloody uneven surface - and it was like watching myself in slow motion as the tube skirt made it hard to stop myself from falling - but apart from being embarrassed I was mainly worried about tearing the skirt and luckily I didn’t.

08.01.2022 Happy New Year.......a blank canvas for all (including my face lol). Morning walk done and dusted and stopped off for breakfast just around the the corner on home leg - hence why no makeup, hot and sweaty. Can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for us all.

08.01.2022 Joining in #thursdaytellusyourstory again with @retiring_not_shy and @melisainoz My previous employer loved the Melbourne Cup and out of the 12 years or so that I worked for Rex probably 10 Melbourne Cups we went to events - with the Tattersalls Club being a repeat venue as he was a member. Nine years ago we got frocked up as usual and off we went. Bought a few raffle tickets too in a gorgeous pearl necklace from Hardy Brothers. They had a box set up with the necklace insid...e. If your raffle ticket was called out you went up, picked a key out of a bag and then tried to open the box. So everyone was standing around as they called out four different numbers and everyone headed up to try their luck without success. So it came down to ‘lucky number 5’ and blow me down my raffle ticket was called out so I knew that I had won. I can still hear one of my colleagues/friends whistling and whoop whooping for me. Such a great time - even though I have only worn it a couple of times it’s the best prize I’ve ever won.

08.01.2022 This morning headed to Chroma Hair Studio for much needed hair attention and catching up with Kim. This arvo saw me drop off the remaining 80 odd bags to another charity from the Share the Dignity It’s in the Bag campaign. Motto pants came out to play again

04.01.2022 Afternoon photo from yesterday - but at least not storming . Popped into Sacha Drake in city Wednesday to buy *1* dress BUT came home with *4* items (should have known better lol). One piece being these stunning harem pants with the ankle detail - lux fabric and beautiful fall in navy. ... They go so well with the lilac hi/Lo top bought recently on sale from Style Me Luxe and finished with new FRANKiE4 footwear - so all recent purchases.

03.01.2022 First two photos are how I will always remember dad - either with fish or covered in grease. . My mum used to say that dad could just look at grease and it would jump on him. My wonderful dad would have turned 85 today - happy birthday Dad - love and miss you every day. The second photo is him scrubbed up lol - didn’t happen very often but love this photo too.

03.01.2022 Yep that is the same top as yesterday - don’t hate me . If I wear clothes for a short time and I don’t get sweaty I like to try and get a second wear - especially when to be ironed lol. Several seasons ago adrift white trousers today though for appointments, girly lunch and groceries.

I was feeling down missing Mum and Dad - wishing they were here still for me to talk to, to share life with. 01.01.2022 New specs. I am fine wearing sunnies that are prescription (cause you don’t know) but I’m not too keen on wearing the ‘inside’ glasses so I usually go for a very neutral and small framed pair. But this latest lot - my distance script has actually decreased - I’ve gone for something different with the pink and burgundy frames - let’s see how confident I am wearing them lol.

01.01.2022 Such a different look for me - I’m wearing a belt . Felt this style shorts needed a tuck - tried various ones - half, French etc but ended with a full tuck and first wear of a recent belt buy. Shorts bought on sale recently from @stylemeluxe with old @mottofashions singlet and @frankie4footwear sandals. Day of appointments, shopping (exciting items such as toaster and iron lol) and groceries.
