25.01.2022 Summersong’s big 20th anniversary January 2020 camp is filling up. Women’s places now have a Waiting List; still spots for guys and Partial Youth Scholarships for all those ages 17-25!!!!

24.01.2022 The line up for the Jan 13-19, 2020 20th edition of Summersong Music Camp is confirmed! So excited to have Mark Bromley finally on board! He'll be running a new daily workshop entitled The Everybody Orchestra and another class to be determined. Jane Cornes returns to teach Words and Music (songwriting) and Beginning Guitar (which was remarkable the last time). Tim Bennett returns with his Bass class and assistance with recording and arranging your music! Sarah Koppens ...will ignite our guitarists again! Tony Backhouse will of course inspire with his a cappella classes for all! Special award for having taught every year??? Shelly Brown will assist your Vocal Techniques in only the most creative and fun ways possible. Elliott Orr returns with his array of djembes, doon doons, and assorted percussion instruments to rouse our rhythms deeply! Jenny Parenteau will encourage all experienced and new players to get out their ukuleles and make music with others, anytime, anywhere, in any genre! Registration will begin at the end of August. If you're booking flights, we'll have the shuttle service from Gold Coast airport to the Tyalgum Ridge Retreat venue. Please land at airport before 1:30pm on the 13th of January, and book departures after 3pm on the 20th. Tony Backhouse returns for his 20th camp, thanks Gods! We've confirmed WA's treasure Jane Cornes to teach Words & Music - her in depth, incredibly fun and creative way to make new songs. 08.01.2022 FACULTY HIGHLIGHT - MARK BROMLEY Mark is a community multi-instrumentalist, educator, performer and composer trained at UNE Armidale who's been educating and making music in his communities for over 30 years. He currently teaches at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, Lismore, and as freelance director educator in the Northern Rivers Region. He performs guitar with flamenco troupe, Arte Gitana, plays bass with the Mish Songsmith ensemble, and fiddle with Red Dirt Gypsy. He r...uns the jazz and blues ensemble and the junior rock band through the con, and herds the Mullum folkies into a semi-organized orchestral mob. He has composed scores for large orchestras and choirs, small ensembles and solo works. Classes: PRACTICAL THEORY AND IMPROVISATION FOR DUMMIES AND REALLY SMART PEOPLE: Check out what keys, scales, chords and progressions mean and apply that to real time making music on the spot. For people of all theoretical levels. If you know your alphabet from A to G and can count to 7, you've got what it takes to apply theory to your music-making and extend your musical identity beyond your wildest dreams. 03.01.2022 FACULTY HIGHLIGHT - KATHRYN RIDING We our divine yoga goddess, with over 30 years experience. She is a WAAPA graduate, has taught at NIDA, WAAPA, QUT, Northern Rivers Conservatorium. She has trained with several well known yoga, mind and voice masters and is a poet and author of two books - Under My Skin (Flamingo) and Yoga for Body Mind Breath and Baby (ABC books)....
