22.01.2022 Sometimes opportunities are the silver-lining in unusual situations! During social isolation have you considered this is an opportunity for you to be able to "Have the time to study?" The busyness of life often means that we put the thing that presents the least resistance on hold - this can be the online study course that we enrolled in when we made a decision to make a career change, enter the workforce or just do something for myself. ... Seize the moment - logon to the Online Learning Support site and engage with your dream (oops study)!

17.01.2022 All teachers are aware of the extreme bushfires throughout Australia and realise that many of you will be affected either directly or indirectly. Please contact the teachers to discuss your situation if you are currently having difficulties with accessing OLS or unable to progress with your study due to the bushfires. Stay safe.

17.01.2022 ACCESS to Course theory &Clusters. Due to the COVID-19 containment Lockdown of Aged Care services many students may not be able to proceed to Work Placement at this time. You may be worried and anxious that your course enrolment will expire before you have the opportunity to complete your course. We are looking at students having access to theory and Clusters that they can go ahead and complete. Whilst in social isolation there is a great opportunity for you to complete the theory and relieve some anxiety through study. If you need access to further Clusters contact the teachers via email and request a Student Declaration to sign so you can go ahead with the learning.

15.01.2022 Enrolment Extension -"Am I eligible?" To qualify for an Enrolment Extension you will need to have completed 50% of course work and be engaged with the course i.e. completing the McGraw Hill learning activities as well as completing and submitting the written assessments for each Cluster of learning. Generally the 1st 60hour block of Work Placement will commence after the theory and written assessments are completed for both Cluster 1 and Cluster 2. This qualifies as 50% of your course.

03.01.2022 If you are near completion or end of enrolment and need additional time to complete please contact the teachers to discuss if you are eligible for a course Enrolment Extension. Please do not leave this too late towards the end of the course enrolment period as we need time to process an Enrolment Extension Request. 01.01.2022 Planning to succeed requires realistic goals and timeframes. Each student has a Training Plan that has submission dates for course assessments based on an algorithm that if followed you will comfortably complete all the crequired course work well within your enrolment timeframe. This means you need to plan study time that will enable you to complete within the course enrolment timeframe. Plan where, when and frequency of your study for each week that will result in your compl...etion of the course theory and assessments. Remember that you also have 120hours of work placement and this will need to be organised by yourself with a local Aged Care service/organisation. The teachers are here to assist you and you can contact them by phone: 02 9715 8299 or email: [email protected] There are alos Webinars scheduled throughout each week that you can attend by logon to the OLS and clicking on the link for the session. The Webinar sessions will assist with your assessments, knowledge required for completion of assessments, organising Work Placement and Getting Started. All the best for this great year ahead!
