23.01.2022 COVID-19 Update 26.03.2020 Please be advised that the Chief Commissioner has suspended all face to face meetings, based on the recent advice as provided from the Federal Government. Our Group will continue to monitor this situation over the coming weeks, and will provide advice back to our members once received. Scouts Queensland is putting forward a number of on-line resources, that will assist Groups in maintaining Scouting activities, along with the provision for on-line /... virtual meetings using media platforms. The health, safety and well-being of not just our members, but the wider community as a whole, is foremost in everybody's minds and decision making processes at this time. Scouting will continue, and will bounce back bigger and better than ever! Regards. Stuart 'Woody' McConaghy

14.01.2022 Operation Nighthawk 2020 CANCELLED The Operation Nighthawk Committee met on the 19 March 2020 to discuss the future of the 2020 Operation Nighthawk event in lig...ht of the current COVID 19 Virus and its likely impact on this scouting event if it was to go ahead as scheduled on the 08th-09th August 2020. After considering the Commonwealth Government advice and Scouts Queensland response that we cancel all Scout organised outdoor mass gatherings with more than 500 people between the period of 16th March and 31st August 2020 it has been decided to cancel Operation Nighthawk for 2020. Whilst suggestions of holding a smaller scale event or postponing the event and such have been made the committee believes that in the current unfamiliar environment we need to firstly consider the safety of young people, leaders and the volunteers who organise the event and consider the health and wellbeing of all Scout members at this time. We look forward to seeing everyone at Operation Nighthawk 2021 in Goombungee on the 14th15th August 2021. This has been a very difficult decision knowing full well that Operation Nighthawk is the must do Scouting activity for 1600 Scouts, Venturer Scouts, Rovers, and Leaders from Sothern Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Our Operation Nighthawk team takes this opportunity to wish scouting families well in this uncertain time and we look forward to seeing you all at Operation Nighthawk in 2021. Yours in scouting Barry Keleher (Kauri) Operation Nighthawk Committee Chairperson

11.01.2022 Cuboree2020 POSTPONED until September2021 The current COVID-19 pandemic that has caused such sweeping changes to the way events are being run has meant that man...y people are facing an uncertain future. The timing for Cuboree2020 put's it at quite a risky time for restrictions to be lifted and for people to be ready to return to such events. As a result the Cuboree Executive Committee is announcing the Cuboree2020 is not going to be able to go ahead in the September 2020 school holidays. Instead, we are going to offer: Cuboree2020 to be postponed until Cuboree2021 in the September school holidays of 2021 A special, one off, Scuboree sub camp for younger scouts who would have been able to attend Cuboree2020, but will be too old for 2021. This will be lead by scout leaders and will aim to give them a more age appropriate event, whilst still participating in the rest of the event Online Cuboree2020 Around the World in 18 months will be a FREE, open to ALL cub scouts and leaders, interactive set of online adventures to keep families engaged in Cuboree right up until the event. The Cuboree Application system will continue to remain open and you can still apply or withdraw your application at any time. Refunds are still available if you aren't able to join us in 2021, but we encourage you to consider being a part of our event as the world changes around us. For any questions, please contact: [email protected]
