23.01.2022 Report of the Auditor-General No. 4 of 2019-20: Rostering of specialists in Tasmania’s major hospitals has tabled in the Tasmanian Parliament 21 November 2019 The objective of the review was to form a limited assurance conclusion on the efficiency and effectiveness of the rostering of specialists in Tasmania’s major hospitals, with a focus on assessing whether the rostering of specialists was controlled and managed in a transparent and fair manner. The review covered transpar...ency of rostering arrangements, fairness of rostering arrangements between specialists in a hospital department or unit and other potential risks, for example, specialist fatigue. In order to provide an informed insight to the rostering of specialists and manage the scope of the review, the following medical specialties at each of the four major hospitals were selected for review: anaesthetics and surgery, and general medicine. The review examined rostering practices in place during the period from August 2018 to the date of this Report.

The objective of this audit was to assess the effectiveness of RHH Redevelopment Project (the Project) processes relating to: project governance, management and reporting risk management... budgetary and financial management building and operational commissioning. The audit examined and analysed information relating to the Project relevant to the audit objective covering the period from the inception of the Project to 31 March 2019, being the date of completion of audit fieldwork. Where appropriate, events subsequent to 31 March 2019 have been taken into consideration. The audit scope did not include: clinical services planning master plans procurement processes.

15.01.2022 Report of the Auditor-General No. 3 of 2019-20 - Tasmania Prison Service: use of resources tabled in the Tasmanian Parliament 19 November 2019. The objective of the audit was to form an opinion on the efficiency and effectiveness of Tasmania Prison Service’s financial management of its custodial facilities. The original focus of the performance audit, as outlined in our Annual Plan of Work 2016-17, was to review the management of Tasmanian prisons including security, reduction in recidivism and cost control/efficiency considerations. However, following the establishment of the Office of the Custodial Inspector in January 2017, whose purpose is to provide independent, proactive, preventative and systemic oversight of custodial centres, the audit’s scope was amended to avoid potential duplication.
