19.01.2022 A message from our President: Dear Members I am writing to you about the evolving situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19).... Until further notice, the Toowoomba Choral Society is operating in a business as usual environment and conducting all scheduled rehearsals. There is hand sanitiser in the entrance foyer to use before and after you sign in. Please bring your own pens, pencils etc for your use. If you feel that you cannot attend rehearsals due to a compromised auto-immune, we understand completely, but please let us know, by emailing [email protected] If a case is identified within our Society we will manage our response with community health at the centre of our decision making. If there is a confirmed case at our premises, it is likely that our facility will need to close for a period of time to allow Queensland Health to assess the situation and to perform contact tracing as required to identify people who may have come in contact with the COVID-19 case. You may have already seen this happening in other states where confirmed cases have been identified. To assist in the containment of the COVID-19, if you develop any flu-like symptoms, we are asking that you: * Stay at home * Avoid close personal contact with others such as touching, kissing or hugging * Avoid any mass gatherings * See a doctor or contact 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) immediately * Seek medical advice if you have any underlying medical conditions * Call ahead to the medical centre or doctor’s surgery, advising of your symptoms and the closure of the facility. To assist with the wider containment of COVID-19, it is important for all of us to continue to adhere to proper hygiene practises, such as: * Wash hands thoroughly and regularly with soap and water, particularly before and after eating and after going to the toilet * Use alcohol-based hand sanitiser if soap is unavailable * Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow * Dispose of tissues in the bin immediately. For further advice and information follow the link below. As a community, during this preparation phase, we thank you for your vigilance and cooperation. Thérèse Lord President

11.01.2022 With our choirs returning, it is important that parents register attendance by 3pm on Tuesday for their children to attend that night. This information and registration: survey link is sent on the weekend prior to choir every week. We need to cap the numbers to remain within the restrictions required. New members always welcome, but please email [email protected] for information on registering.

11.01.2022 Our choir is back!! Thank you to TAS for allowing us to rehearse with the appropriate social distance.

10.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland school students will learn at home for the first five weeks of Term 2, with schools only open for the children of essential workers. The mo...ve to the home-based learning model starts on Monday, 20 April and will be in place until at least Friday, 22 May. All students who can learn from home are to stay at home. School staff, unless they are vulnerable due to medical conditions, will continue to teach from the classroom to ensure continuity of learning for students. Children of essential workers and vulnerable children can continue to attend school. This is another very difficult decision, but it is the right one for Queensland while we continue to slow the spread of COVID-19. #coronavirusaustralia

09.01.2022 It’s wonderful to see FOUR of our alumni - Anna Roche-Kelly, Isabel Lanigan, Gabe Tiller and Sean Johnston - pursuing their love of music and theatre in the cur...rent cohort at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
