24.01.2022 Again a big thank you to the one and only Mister Connectors for giving our wiring loom a much needed diet. Brett cleaned up and deleted the unused components in our EVO 6RS like Factory SRS, A/C, heater fogs etc. whilst retaining all of the factory essentials for us to maintain a street registrable road car :) The car is now running 7kg lighter and will be a lot simpler to work on in the future! 19.01.2022 Another evo through the roller doors. This one came in, the owner complaining about an abnormal noise coming from the engine. Upon insistence about the potential seriousness of the noise, the customer agreed to leave the car with us for diagnosis. Upon inspection we found the noise to be coming from the timing area, and a quick look at what was going on with the covers off showed the timing belt was flapping about as the motor rotated. Diagnosis - failed hydraulic tensioner.... We have seen this plenty of times when cars arrive with unknown service history, or proper maintenance is not carried out correctly either due to budget constraints or simply due to a lack of knowledge. Lucky for this customer the belt had not yet slipped enough to cause any catastrophic damage. Inevitably it was only a matter of time however. When was the last time your car was serviced? Not sure? Might be time to get in touch to catch up on what you've missed. Minor to major we do it all in house using OEM products only. Prevention is better than cure, and certainly a lot cheaper!

09.01.2022 Team ERS Showcase: It's been a busy time of year with a focussed push to get cars out to their owners before the end of the year so they can be enjoyed over the holiday period. Wrapping up another ERS600 build for this gorgeous Evo 7. The owner of this Evo came in wanting some more power. We decided an ERS600 package would work for this customer, in the areas of achievable power and most importantly reliability & budget. We got the go ahead for this build and began putting it... together. A basic run down of this build's power package is as follows: Built 2.0L Engine Package Hypertune Manifold Intense 5960 Artec Dump Custom 3.5 Front Pipe Greddy Intercooler Walbro 525 fuel pump kit. All fitting, modification to the OEM cradle and rewire completed in house Stock ECU 1650CC Injectors This set up made a very healthy 405KW at around 35PSI boost. This set up is an example of just how far stock frame turbo technology has come, with the right supporting mods we are increasingly seeing these turbos push power where turbos would have normally struggled in the past and more importantly, with ease. The fuel system will be revisited when the customer is ready for more work and this set up will be capable of more power. 03.01.2022 Our head mechanic explains some quick tips on one of our favourite clutches that we install on Evos with power ranging from stock 200kw all the way to 400kw+ On a daily basis we get enquiries about clutch brand, type, what it can handle, why doesn't it engage gears and more so we decided to make this video specifically on the Exedy Twin Plate clutch. Reasons behind the video of this specific clutch is from our experience it has been a great all rounder in the motorsport sce...ne and on street and have had great feed back from everyone who uses it after us modifying and installing it. Also this particular clutch is very easy to drive with almost stock feeling clutch pedal, the shockload is greatly reduced with 2 clutch discs with launching and gear changes, no gear engagement lockouts on both 5 and 6 speed boxes and best part is driveline longevity is increased for more enjoyment.
