25.01.2022 Hey everyone! The ANU Tennis Club's 2020 AGM will be held on the 25th of October, and we're looking for eager members to run for committee positions that will make 2021 an EXCITING year for everyone involved! Unfortunately, the club was unable to run many social events this year due to covid, but it's up to you to make 2021 great! (only cool kids get to be the esteemed position of social officer )... You don't need to be a uni student to be a committee member, but if you are, it will give you good experience working in a team (to help you carry those group assignments), managing (and spending *hint hint*) public finances, and most importantly of all carry on the legacy of the one and only tennis club of the ANU. Pros of becoming a committee member: - Spend money wisely - Develop your communication skills - Extra line on your empty post-uni resume - Host social events throughout the year - Learn how to use a key (in case you have a locksmith apprenticeship side hustle) - Write social media posts with tons of run-on sentences - and many more... Cons of becoming a committee member: - Coach will probably hit more balls at you during training - That's it really But honestly, it's super easy. just remember to have fun! GET YOUR NOMINATIONS IN NOW AT: https://forms.gle/NF2CWfpGKsTMpnYx8 You can also nominate yourself on the day.

24.01.2022 ***ANU Tennis Club Update RE COVID-19*** Due to the ANU’s new policies on social gatherings the ANU Tennis Club has decided to cancel all scheduled tennis sessions until further notice. As of now all full members are still able to book the tennis courts and use them at their own leisure. However, the ANU Tennis club advises you to take some precautions if you choose to do so...... Please wash your hands with soap and warm water thoroughly before and after playing tennis. This can be done in the law school toilets right outside the tennis courts! Try to keep at least a metres distance from those you are playing with. Have no more than four people playing on a single court. Don’t share racquets, foods or drinks with one another. Avoid physical contact with others while you are at the courts. That includes no high fives or shaking hands. Please don’t come to the courts if you are feeling unwell. It’s important that we all do our part to follow these simple rules to ensure that we are doing everything we possibly can to keep everyone in the club healthy during this period of time. Any updates regarding sessions will be posted to our Facebook pages but if you have any other questions please get in contact with us.

22.01.2022 AUTUMN PENNANT Autumn pennant is coming up in March. Entries close on Wednesday February 5th. Similarly to Summer pennant, captains from each team will enter their teams themselves. However, as bookings can only be made monday to friday you will need to wait till tomorrow, Monday 25 May, to make a booking. We would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding during the current pandemic.... This means that the ANU Tennis Courts will be opening back up shortly however, at this time the courts can only be used by ANUTC members for private hitting. Additionally, if you choose to use the courts you will need to adhere to the rules outlined in our COVID-Safe Training Plan (see photos attached to this post) and ANU Sports Return-to-Play Plan which was made in accordance with the Universities and Governments guidelines. To make a private booking you will need to do this in advance by emailing [email protected]. In this email you will need to outline. - Your membership status (i.e. you’re a full member of the ANUTC) - The date and time you are looking to book a court (up to 2 hours) - Court preference and - The names of anyone who will be playing with you. A majority of which need to be full ANUTC members. However, some social members will be permitted to accompany full members. Currently, the use of any ANU Tennis Court will not be permitted without a prior booking which should be made in as much advance as possible. Bookings will only be processed Monday to Friday so we encourage you to provide ANU Sport with as much notice as possible, particularly for any weekend bookings. If ANU Sport receives these requests late then they cannot guarantee a booking will be confirmed in time for your use. There will be multiple stages in our journey to reopening the club safely and in accordance with the necessary guidelines, so we ask for your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us via email or our Facebook page and continue to keep an eye out for further updates regarding the ANUTC.
