23.01.2022 Sunday Ali never fails to entertain us with his interactive Hello Africa Show. The children learnt about African culture through music, singing, dancing and learning how to use the different instruments and resources used for everyday living in Africa. 22.01.2022 Throughout the year we incorporate several incursions in our curriculum, at no extra cost to families. Last week Miss Tiff from Ocean Life Education attended our centre to inspire the children to appreciate and take responsibility for the marine ecosystem. The children were able to touch the sea stars, sea urchins, abalone, sea cucumber and Squirtle the Turtle. The children found the baby bamboo shark interesting to watch We still have some spaces left in our Pre Kindy p...rogram (2.5 to 4 year olds) for the remainder of 2020. 21.01.2022 Last week was World Space Week and the Kindy children were eager to make their own planets. They put alot of thought into how they wanted their planet to look, carefully choosing colours and using alfoil and/or cotton tips dipped in paint to create their planet surface. When the paint was dry, they cut their planet out and glued it onto black paper. They then chose stars and glitter to finish off their planet creation. QKLG: ACTIVE LEARNING - As active learners, children are developing understandings of themselves and their world, and creating their ideas through imaginative and dramatic play. Water play, face/body painting, making Cloud Dough, exploring Goop, arts & crafts, chalk drawing on the concrete, a visit from the SES and learning the colours of the German flag on the "Day of German Unity". 13.01.2022 At The Gap Early Childhood Centre we believe in fostering an appreciation of the natural environment, by providing natural spaces and materials to appreciate, learn with and create from. Our Kindy children recently learnt (from one of our Kindy Mum's) how to recycle old milk and juice bottles to create new homes for plants. The children have also enjoyed their creek visits and have found resources in the natural environment to bring back to Kindy and give new life. 06.01.2022 Over the last couple of weeks the Pre Kindy children have learnt about the diversity of different cultures, explored their creativity with different styles of art, learnt how to care for our environment, investigated different aspects of outer space with World Space Week, learnt important social skills while playing games and interacting with one another and much more! Enrolments in our Pre Kindy Program for 2020 are now open! Our Pre Kindy program offers a holistic, play based curriculum, designed by our qualified and passionate Educators to support and nurture your child's growing potential.
