25.01.2022 Absolutely delighted with the outcome of this fantastic antique French 3 piece. Top quality linen supplied by Pure Linen, Spearwood. finished off very carefully with individual antique finish upholstery studs. This whole piece was in excellent condition with minor restoration work required. It makes such a difference for me, as an upholsterer to work on a piece that has been looked after and restored correctly throughout the years. This piece is a testament to true, genuine craftsmanship and makes me proud to call myself an upholsterer.

25.01.2022 Wee Paddy boy helping out in the workshop today on my mum in laws chair

24.01.2022 6x 100 year old, English Oak dining chairs. Legend has it these came over from a Scottish castle. The Oak was completely stripped back and resealed by Antique Restoration Centre and of course resculpted by myself. I didn't have the original pads to go off so it was very much so "make it up as I went along". Couldn't be happier with the outcome. I used a mixture of traditional and modern material. They've come up a treat! I reckon these will last a few hundred years to come!!

24.01.2022 My husband and I are the humans to 2 kitty's. Here's Louis Theroux. He absolutely loves the old smells in the workshop. Not even nearly bothered by all the noises going on around him

24.01.2022 A pair of stunning Edwardian chairs. Over 100 years old! Complete refurb. All the original pads were carefully removed and the frame was re glued. The pads were then re sculpted adding more layers as I went. The materials I used were mostly natural and the highest quality possible. This does not come at a higher price, it's just how upholstery was always meant to be! I absolutely loved working on these. Pretty much my whole skill set gone into them!

23.01.2022 Here are a couple of rare Fred Lowens Fler Chairs. Absolutely stunning chair. So comfortable. The frames were stripped, re glued and shellacked by a local French polisher. Brand new locally manufactured premium quality foam cushion inserts and of course a striking Warwick Fabrics Australia. These beautiful chairs are to go alongside the 1962 Parker sofa that I posted a few weeks ago. This was a 2 part project. Smiling people (and dog) all round. Thanks Ian and family. Pleasure working with you.

21.01.2022 Made in Sydney 1910. Absolutely solid, majestic pieces. Perfect fabric choice also Warwick Fabrics Australia. My client acquired these about 10 years ago. When he 1st bought them he decided he would strip them back to the frames himself. Unfortunately though, over the years 3 of the original handmade horse hair seat pads had been misplaced. We then decided to just completely resculpt these from scratch using all natural and modern materials. Here's to another 100+ years. We are both delighted with the outcome! I hope you like them too

20.01.2022 I just inherited this from the lovely (very much so alive) Kylie Bradshaw. Thanks a mill! I've covered many many wing chairs and have been feeling like I deserve 1 of my own, and now I have 1. They are a lovely chair to work with. This chair will be coming to the northern hemisphere with us when we go. Will need to drag my better half out to choose some fabric. It's in great nick, not much restoration work required! I'm a happy camper thanks again

19.01.2022 2 mid century chairs made in Perth. Both made by the same manufacturer but at different dates. Not sure how far apart but there was a huge difference in the way these were sculpted and upholstered. Also both slightly different sizes. See pics

18.01.2022 Here's a beauty you can go and see at the Warwick Fabrics showroom in Leederville. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing this project together.

16.01.2022 I just found some poor unfortunate souls "lost marble"

16.01.2022 Last September I met a beautiful couple, Ray and Kerry that were building a new home and needed their older, inherited chairs restored. It was a project that was done in stages and along the way I posted a picture here and there. Here are the final products. Good luck in your new home. I know you and your family will make more fond memories together here. Here's to another few decades for your chairs also.

15.01.2022 Hello! Hope you are well I'm reposting this as I want to let everyone know that the table has come back up for sale. 15.01.2022 Here, we have pics of the chairs that go with the 2 wings sofas in the last post. We have 2 wing chairs and a bridge chair. Again in Warwick Fabrics Australia. Beautiful selection and really lovely to work with. I wish Chris and Jenny all the best with their New (old) chairs. (The green floral fabric was what they were all in before)

14.01.2022 4th last job before we leave Perth and with very special sentimental value. This pair of 1960's chairs were given to my clients as wedding presents by her mother and father. And yes, they are still married :) They were bought brand new and this is the 1st time they've be reupholstered. He stripped and sanded back the wood, beautiful colour. We reckon Tasmanian Oak and I fully restored the sprung seats and and backs using all natural materials. Fab Warwick Fabrics Australia, Avanti.

14.01.2022 Rush seats no more! A fab set of country style dining chairs from Italy. Originally, they all had a rush seat pad but we have resculpted them using foam and dakron. They are now finished in a Warwick Fabrics Australia, Vibe Charcoal.

13.01.2022 All you chair lovers should check out this page. You can buy, sell, admire and just simply share!!

11.01.2022 And there is still more coming. I cant thank everyone enough for their generosity. It was such a pleasure to meet you all. We'll see you on the flip side :) and Paddy says Thank you also

10.01.2022 In case any of you are curious, life in Jigalong is really quite humbling. I haven't done any upholstery projects yet as it's 100mph and I am still working on relationships within the community. Clothing incentive will begin next term along with an Op shop within the community with some of items that were donated, older style. Here are some pics of the wee beauties we are working with. They have all got a slice of my heart now.

09.01.2022 I decided to have a look on line to get some ideas for my new wing chair and came across this. BRILLIANT!!

09.01.2022 Can you spot the difference? 1962 Parker Furniture sofa. Fab design and solid! The sofa came in to me absolutely covered in cat wee. I had to strip it back right to the frame and resculpt, mostly on instinct but I'm pleased with the finished product. Another fab Warwick Fabrics Australia Great to work with.

09.01.2022 It's been a while since my last post. There are a lot of pics of projects to come. For now, here are a pair of sofas that have just been dropped off this morning. They are an identical pair in an Australian made Warwick Fabric, new premium foam cushions manufactured here in perth and a new sprung seat as well as new cotton wadding throughout. They used to belong to my customers mum that is now passed. They/He was absolutely over the moon. Ultimate job satisfaction!!

08.01.2022 ALL SOLD. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR SHARING. MID CENTURY FURNITURE FOR SALE: Downsizing in preparation for the big move. Mad about this furniture, very sad to see it go and so we are very keen to find a buyer that will love and appreciate these pieces as much as us. We are their 2nd ever owners. They were made and purchased from new mid 60s in South Africa and shipped to Australia in 1996. The original owners moved into a retirement village and had to sell on most ...of their furniture. I would say all pieces are in very good to excellent condition. I have just given the whole set a deep clean and an oil (which took aaaaages but worth it!). Absolutely flawless wood veneer and excellent craftsmanship. The wood is believed to be Tambootie wood. I would rather see it go as a set but I realise not everyone would have the room for the whole set. Please see individual pics for prices and description. I can also send additional pics on request. Happy to deliver. Please share this post with your friends. These really are special pieces and we would love them to go to a like minded home

07.01.2022 For THE Mrs. Richardson herself

06.01.2022 Hope you all are well. Haven't yet had the opportunity to start up upholstery training here in Jigalong. However, I thought I should at the very least post some of my final jobs I did in Perth. Here is a chair and sofa. Exactly 23 years old. Fab Warwick fabric once again

06.01.2022 Before and after. 2 Wing Chairs with beautiful lines, dressing table stool and some frilly cushions

06.01.2022 Yesterday it was pouring down in Jigalong only a handful of small kids at school. Sent these wee boys home with new shoes, socks and warm jumpers. It was like Christmas for them. They'd melt your heart. It really puts things into perspective! Thank you again to all who donated clothes and shoes. In the next few weeks we hope to get a "clothes market" up and running. All money raised will go towards craft supplies for all high school girls to make and sell products. As well as a school incentive store open every Friday. There has been a lot happening in the short time we have been here that has prevented all this from happening sooner. I look forward to posting more pics. Stay warm

05.01.2022 SOLD! FOR SALE: A wee bit of upcycling

05.01.2022 Before and after. 6 solid jarrah dining chairs. These chairs have been in my clients family for over 60 years. They were completely restored. We also hand stuffed new seats pads. All materials used were 100 % natural.

04.01.2022 It worries me because this is the case for far too many.

03.01.2022 A short and sweet message for the time being... The Chair Woman is fully booked until the big move in January!

03.01.2022 This lady is amazing. Good on her

02.01.2022 Hello fellow Facebookers, as well as offering upholstery services, due to popular demand, I have also decided to run one on one classes from my workshop. If any...one would like more information on restoring their tired looking chairs or cushions, please feel free to get in touch. Thanks, Randa See more

01.01.2022 Sorry it's been so long posting updates. We are now in Jigalong. We made a delivery today of 2 arm chairs that were donated to the Jigalong home for the elderly that is run by the lovely Foni who gave up her western lifestyle 17 years ago to run it. Fabulous oasis in the middle of the desert.
