25.01.2022 Oh Miley you are the sweetest little Angel. I’m so grateful we found you, and you chose us to adopt you

25.01.2022 RECYCLING yeah it can be a pain in the butt. But... it’s really not that hard. It’s important to remember to remove the paper and plastic labels wherever you can. Simply leave the empty cans in your dishwashing water for a couple of minutes and it will slip right off!

25.01.2022 If you’re in need of some GROUNDING I’ve got a beautiful 15-minute guided meditation just for you. You’ll find it on the Insight Timer App. OR head to the link in my Instagram bio to find the link to my Insight Timer profile.

25.01.2022 Warm ginger water is the first thing I drink in the morning. Warm ginger water is another way to cleanse the digestive tract. It’s a great way to boost the metabolism and reduce inflammation of the whole body. It also helps the body with its regular morning elimination process yep! There are many more benefits. But these are just some of the main reason I drink it I encourage you to give it a go and see how you feel after a month. ... P.S. I never used to like drinking warm water. But the more I do it, the more I prefer it these days. My gut health thanks me for it. For loads of Ayurvedic tips and treatments Tamika at @thesattvacentre is who I go to in the Adelaide Hills.

24.01.2022 Rather than repeating what you know you can do. Try doing something that makes you step outside of your comfort zone. You’ll be surprised at what you are capable of.

24.01.2022 Merry Christmas my friend. I will be mostly offline over the next 2 weeks. I cannot wait for 2021. I have so many ideas and events to share with you all. I wish you all a safe and merry Christmas and a positive start to the new year. Much love from, ... The Nifty Yogi See more

23.01.2022 Today is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want ~ Ken Poirot ~

23.01.2022 Share light and love so that the darkness doesn’t take over In 2021, I welcome change. Change from a higher perspective. Of positivity and possibility. Through the tough times that I/we know are yet to come. No, the tough times aren’t over. As much as we hope the would be. We have a lot to do yet. To look after ourselves. To look after each other. To look after this planet and the entire universe. ... Like a virus, spreading through a chain of reactions. So too can light spread like wildfire. So help me be that light. A community of light. Help me shine it all around the world. Let darkness be only from the shadows behind our light filled bodies

22.01.2022 Mastering self-love is something that I find very challenging to do. Do you? Can you say you love yourself 100%? Without hesitation? Do you love who you are as a person? Do you love every centimetre of your body? Every hair? If not, don’t worry. The thing is.... It’s more of an acceptance of the self, rather than a ‘fix-it’ kind of job. ... So rather than trying to change. Accept who you are. Change only what you need to, to become the best version of your lovely self. Such as being a positive, kind and caring person. Switch that frown upside down Own who you are! And be the light this world needs

22.01.2022 ~ GET GROUNDED ~ Without even hearing my guides say it. I know they encourage me to get grounded as often as I can. When I’m NOT grounded I feel all over the place. I forget simple things and routines. I get flustered easily. I forget to live in the present and start to worry about the future. Things in general just start to go ‘wrong’ or don’t run as smoothly as when I am in sync with the vibration of my highest self. ... If any of this sounds familiar... perhaps you might need to take a day, hour or minute to get grounded and connect to Mother Earth. Know that if you are reading this, it is probably exactly what you need to do right now. It’s not a coincidence. It’s a sign

20.01.2022 Lime is ‘cooling’ and lemons are more ‘heating’. This is based on Ayurvedic (traditional Indian healing) knowledge. As we come into the warmer days I opt for lime infused water. It not only cools the body but tastes delicious! Both lime and lemon have their benefits. They are both cooling, they cleanse the body of toxins while also aiding in digestion.... So during this summer when you opt for an infused glass of water (or whatever mixer you’re drinking) go for the limes rather than the lemons. Your internal body will thank you for it. Another Ayurvedic tip is that we should avoid (as often as possible) drinking icy cold drinks. It upsets the digestion among many other things. I’m no Ayurvedic guru but this I know is true. I hope you benefit from the knowledge I’ve learned from my Ayurvedic practitioner over the years

20.01.2022 ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay is an incredible book I’d recommend anyone to read. Especially yoga teachers. I refer to this book so often in my yoga classes. Attaching physical ailments of the body to metaphysical causes gives us so many answers we try to seek outside of ourselves. For example:... The lower back ~ such as pain, discomfort and/or disc issues are related to ‘lack of financial support’ or ‘fear of money’. Wrists ~ represent ‘moment and ease’ if you are ‘stuck in your ways’ and don’t welcome change. The likely hood of your wrists to cause you problems is high. Knees ~ represent ‘pride and ego’. Acne ~ is to do with ‘disliking/not accepting the self’. (Something I need to work on) There are pages and pages of these relatable terms. I highly recommend you borrow/buy it and have a look for yourself. Or if you are open to sharing what ailment you have. I can look it up and let you know. Feel free to comment below, or send me a DM.

19.01.2022 In Ayurvedic science. You aren’t what you eat, but what you digest. If you aren’t able to digest your food, you’ll likely have a whole bundle full of issues with your bowels and your health in general. My Ayurvedic practitioner has been so informative on my path to health and well-being. I wish you all knew the knowledge I have learned from her. ... From what foods shouldn’t be paired together What foods my body personally thrives on. Not one person should have the same ‘diet’ What you should do first thing in the morning. How to dry-brush, oil-pull and tongue scrape. Plus so, so much more! Check out her page @thesattvacentre She also has a heap of informative videos on YouTube. And the recipes on her website are so delicious and healing all at the same time. She is such a beautiful, down to earth, passionate, generous and loving soul. Gosh I love her! She also offers spiritual guidance. If any of your guides want to share some information to you (through her) she will share what it is your guides want you to know. This isn’t for everyone but if you are open to some extra guidance. Why not!

19.01.2022 Today, I encourage you to smile at a stranger, a friend, or someone who needs it. You might just change their life. Don’t ever underestimate what a contagious smile can do to heal, or simply lift someone’s mood

19.01.2022 Chocolate Tart There is one very surprising ingredient in this one!! And it’s not chocolate. It’s... Banana! Let me know if you want me to share the recipe. It’s vegan AND gluten free. So quick and easy to make, and oh so delicious!

18.01.2022 My Ayurvedic practitioner gave me this epic trick to avoid the coffee high (caffeine). I more so only do it when I want more a second coffee for the a day. Or I feel like one after lunch. If I personally have a coffee anytime after 12pm I struggle to get to sleep at night. I thought I was one of ‘those people’ who don’t get effected by it. But to be honest we all do. It just depends how tuned into your body you are and how mindfully aware you can notice the subtlety of the ca...ffeine hit. Caffeine effects everyone. Some more than others. However if you want to remove the caffeine hit for whatever reason. The magical spice is... CARDAMOM! You only need a pinch of it to work and it tastes delightful. You can mix it in your coffee or sprinkle it on top like I did. It makes it almost tastes like a dirty chia (chia latte with a shot of coffee) Let me know if this works for you. I’d love to hear how your trials go P.S. I only used half of the cardamom in my hand And it doesn’t have to be a milky coffee. It can be a black coffee to still work it’s magic.

17.01.2022 The nature of yoga is to shine a light of awareness, into the darkest corners of the body, mind and soul. Allowing the darkness to be released so that you can let go and move on. So that you can be free off stress in the mind and tension in the body.

13.01.2022 Mistakes are where we learn lessons through life. No matter what age we are. Mistakes are often repeated. Until we learn the true lesson behind them. Be open to making the wrong choices. Don’t hold it against yourself when you do make a mistake. Simply learn from it.... Accept what was. What is. And what is yet to come.

13.01.2022 How often do you actually meditate? I must say I am not consistent. I want to be. But I am yet to figure out why I find excuses.... Am I worried about what I might learn? Am I just too impatient and fidgety? Am I scared to sit in silence with my mind? Are there more ‘important’ things to do? Why must I find other things to occupy my mind with? Maybe this is something I should meditate on

13.01.2022 If you could make your dreams become a reality, what would you do? I would buy/build my own yoga retreat. One that has a cafe, a yoga studio, a library, plus a meditation/quiet room. A big, outdoor, grassy area with picnic rugs spread all around. Hammocks in the trees, with a kids play area, a function room (or two) for all kinds of events. Even a few eco cabin for people to stay/glamp would be awesome! ... My affirmations: This is my dream. This will be my reality one day. My ideas will change over time I’m sure, but I know this general idea won’t differ much.

08.01.2022 What is one thing you love about yourself? For me. I love my smile. I love that it’s big and gummy. I love that it’s imperfect. I love that my smile can brings other into a smile. I hope you find some way, to make yourself, and someone else smile today... Feel free to share your thoughts or just ponder on them to yourself.

06.01.2022 I’m really loving the beauty of water colour art. There’s just something about it that feels like home. Perhaps in a past life I was a painter... It’s a beautiful challenge and is so much harder than it seems initially. All of the layers, patience and detailing that go into it is a challenge in itself ... I could sit and paint for hours on end and get lost in time. I think it’s so important to have a hobby and I’m glad I’ve finally found one that is new to me, very calming, creative and rewarding. This piece needs some more layers yet. But I can’t wait to see the final outcome. @artytypesartschool teaches watercolour classes in the Adelaide hills if you interested. Today was our last class for the year but she’ll be starting up Jan/Feb some time. I can’t wait!

04.01.2022 I don’t often allow myself to rest. I work hard constantly. In my mind, there’s ALWAYS something I ‘should’ be doing. Whether it’s creating ideas, starting new projects, taking on new adventures, weeding the garden, cleaning the house. I rarely let myself stop and relax. This Christmas break I look forward to spending time with myself, my husband and my beautiful dog Miley. I’ll be doing yoga in my own space. Without any recording equipment or pretty outfits. (Unless I feel... like sharing) I’m just going to show up for myself I encourage you to do the same. Maybe not this current time... But whenever you feel like you need it. What do you need in your life right now? Or what could you do without?

03.01.2022 My favourite quote of 2020 is by @donmiguelruiz in his book ‘The Four Agreements’ I can’t recommend it enough! See my previous post to see the cover...

02.01.2022 ‘The Four Agreements’ is a short, straight to the point, and life changing book. I’m always working on self-development. I feel like there is never too much to learn. I will always be a student no matter how much I know.
