25.01.2022 I sent an email to club members who are also breeders attached was a draft of the puppy sales contract that the club has commissions. This email was sent to give breeders an opportunity to peruse and comment on the proposed contract before it is sent to a Barrister to be legally assessed to see that it meets the set criteria for fairness etc. If you have not received the email and feel you should have please contact the secretary John Wilders [email protected] and it will be sent out to you Thanks

24.01.2022 Just a very quick note to inform everyone that the SCV committee is currently working on arranging a co-ordinator to take on the Pet Walks. This should be arranged over the next few months but does take time to get things in place. So, at the moment we dont have any walks planned but we are working to get something up and running very soon. Thank you for your patience

24.01.2022 Members. Just a note to let you all know that The Samoyed Club of Victoria committee has just approved the use of a contract we have had drawn up by a lawyer. (AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF A DOG) This contract has been checked by a barrister to ensure it meets the requirements for fairness. We will soon be posting the contract onto our club webpage with the recommendation that new puppy buyers should print it off and ask a breeder to sign it (if the breeder doesn't already offer a contract) prior to purchasing a puppy. We also encourage breeders to use this contract when they sell a puppy/dog to a new owner. If anyone would like a copy of the contract please PM or email John Wilders (secretary)

19.01.2022 Here's a trip down memory lane for any of you that were around for our first National back in 88. I came across a DVD which had been damaged in a fire we had a... few years back. I managed to salvage most of what was there. It takes about 20 seconds to get going so be patient. This is up in my Dropbox and it's only going to be there for a short while as I need the space for other things so take a look sooner rather than later. There are a lot of faces that you'll still see around the rings today (albeit with a few more wrinkles and a lot less hair) and there are a lot of people who we have lost over the journey. See more

19.01.2022 For another year Samoyeds were at Crown. I would like to say a big thank you to Ron and Lorraine Addison, Fay Tucker Chelsea Hamilton and a special thanks to Helen Chen, who stepped up, when asked, and really came to the party with one of her baby puppies. As you can imagine very popular with the younger children. Im sorry I dont have any pictures but I didnt have a lot of time to take a lot as the big dogs were also in demand for lots of picture for the public. The Crown "gig" is always great exposure for our breed, and Ron and Lorraine can take their hats off for the effort and time they contribute to this function. Again thank you to everyone who helped

19.01.2022 Hi All Dont forget that the SCV is holding its Talk on Hip and Elbow Dysplasia this Thursday night at the Kilsyth Club at 8pm. Everyone is welcome and the more the better. Dinner from 6pm but you will need to call and book your own table if you want to have dinner.

11.01.2022 I have been asked by our organised speaker, Mr Brett Melke, (Lawyer) to convey his apologies, as, due to the death of his mother, he will be unable to attend the Special General Meeting which will be held on Thursday 24th October 2019 at 8.00pm, In the Parkview Room, Club Ringwood. Bret was going to talk on puppy contracts. As you may be aware Bret met with breeders (club members), and they discussed what breeders required from a contract. Bret took notes and is ready to proceed with the wording of a contract for the club. Peter Hill took notes at the meeting and will prcis the meeting for those who were not there, should any other points arise out of the discussion they will be conveyed to Bret for inclusion. Assuming, of course, that the membership gives approval for the commissioning of a contract to proceed.

09.01.2022 Hello everybody After a meeting held by committee during the week last week we have decided that the SCV Championship Show that was due to be held in August will now be CANCELED due to the COVID 19 restrictions. We look forward to running all our shows again in 2021 and thank you all for your support Please note that our SOTY event date and venue are still to be advised at a later date once we can hopefully arrange something that fits within the government regulations ... Also please note that the AGM for the SCV will be postponed until we can comply with government regulations. A date and venue will be advised as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding Regards Peter Hill President SCV

09.01.2022 Attention to all SCV members in regards to our events planned for this year. After a meeting held by the committee this week and with the COVID 19 situation we would like to advise the following SCV Open Parade Unfortunately we have decided to cancel our Open Parade for this year. Anyone who had entered and paid for their entries will receive a full refund. ... SOTY We have decided that we will still proceed with SOTY for the 2019 qualifiers however at this stage we will have to advise of a new date once we can arrange a date and venue. In the mean time all monies for entries and dinners WILL BE Refunded back to those who had already paid. Once we have a new date and venue we will put it out to everyone and if the dates work for you then you will all be asked to re enter again and then pay again if you intend on joining and competing in the SOTY event. You will only be invited to compete if you had qualified for the 2019 shows. We have decided that we will NOT hold a 2020 SOTY competition due to the COVID 19 crisis that has occurred this year. HOWEVER if you have already qualified for the 2020 SOTY you will be considered qualified for the 2021 SOTY event. Also if we are allowed back out into the show ring later on this year and you qualify at one of the qualification show that were listed for this year then that will also be considered as a qualified dog for the 2021 SOTY event. REFUNDS FOR BOTH THE OPEN PARADE AND SOTY EVENT WILL BE DONE BY THE END OF THE MONTH WHERE POSSIBLE SCV Championship Show The committee has decided that as long as we are able to hold the event under the government regulations when the restrictions are lifted this event will go ahead. At this stage the date and venue are TBA. If we are allowed to hold this event once restrictions are lifted before August then the current date and venue will still apply. Also due to the government regulations on international air travel there is a high chance that we will have to change our judge for the show. We do have plans in place for this and we do have a substitute judge lined up if we are unable to proceed with our current approved judge. Please keep an eye out for notifications for the SOTY Event and Championship Show as we will notify everyone as soon as we have further information Can ALL committee member please share this post.
