25.01.2022 This amazing illustration by @lindsaybraman summarises the core elements of #PositivePsychology, and the key elements Martin Seligmans research identified as influencing a good life. Being engaged with the world around us through elements such as connection and doing what we love. Having quality relationships in our world and having meaning and purpose in our world.... Having a sense of accomplishment and experiencing positive emotions is also key. This can be bought about by gratitude exercises, mediation and many others. 23.01.2022 Today is International Womens Day. The theme for this year is lets all be #EachforEqual. The theme acknowledges that "Individually, were all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.... We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate womens achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world." May we recognise the strengths in the women who are meaningful to us, may we acknowledge the strengths we see with gratitude. May we encourage and support the brave women amongst us, raising brave, confident women and supporting the women we know and care about to be the best versions of themselves they can be. May we be brave, compassionate and strong women, parents and members of the community. See more

22.01.2022 All new parents need to time and opportunity to grow into the parent role, to find their feet and to find their way of being a parent. Mums and Dads needs this. We can be great at checking in on mums, offering support and reminding them that it takes time to find your parenting pathway.... Dont forget the Dads. They need the same reminders, the same opportunities and supports. Photo by Devi Puspita Amartha Yahya on Unsplash
20.01.2022 We all need support at different times in our life, we need to give and to receive. Especially as a new parent, and during times where our lives are changing. We can receive emotional support from someone who cares enough to listen. Or can receive practical support form someone who brings us a coffee and lunch when they visit or folds the washing simply to help out in the moment. ... Support comes in different forms and what we find supportive changes as our little one grows, as our priorities change and as life takes different paths. Do the key people around you know what you find supportive and how to help? If not is it time to politely tell them? Or is it time to ask yourself what can I do to help someone I care about and support them? photo credit Anna Pritchard via Unsplash

Ask yourself does this stop me doing what I want to do, from doing what I would like to do or from trying something new? ... Ask yourself can I acknowledge this feeling and give it a go anyway? 18.01.2022 A gentle reminder from @jangandjfox to have a genuine conversation with someone you care about. Is it time to phone a friend and ask how they are? 14.01.2022 So little, so precious. The bond and connection between a parent and child. Reflect back upon your day for a moment. Can you think of one thing that you made you smile?... Have you taken the time to connect with your little one, or to engage, even if only for a moment? The day is not over. Can you set a goal to take a moment and pause from the business of life to simply be present with your little one? To be fully present in the moment. To notice their smiles, their giggles, to notice how they interact with you or respond? To notice how you respond. Connection is a powerful tool for supporting positive mental health. Connection to those around us (family and friends!), to something we feel is important and that gives us meaning and purpose is powerful. #MentalHealthWeek See more
