09.01.2022 Good evening Confident Birthers! We are looking for a team of keen student midwives to help out with a range of tasks on the day of the expo. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to chat to lots of pre- and postnatal service providers (our beautiful stall holders) and meet heaps of expecting couples on the day. You'd be helping out with one or more of these areas... -signing people in at the door -checking tickets at the entrance to the keynote speaker's room -taking photos throughout the day and posting on social media (what a sweet job, right?) -managing technology (i.e. laptop and projector) during speakers' presentations -directing attendees to the right spots -helping set up trestle tables and pack down again -handing out show bags -probably some other things... Between us, Peta and I bring thirty-five years experience in the field of holistic wellness. It turns out that we have had at least six teachers in common, though at different times. Our flavour is all about honouring the wisdom and divinity of our bodies and our sexuality. If you are aiming for an undisturbed normal physiological vaginal birth of your baby, did you know that pretty much all you need is already inside of you? And that that it takes space, time and dedication to slow down and tune in to this intelligence in your female body - to unhook from the dominant patterns of your busy mind? Yes, it's important to understand what birth is about - the physiology, the psychology, and sadly even the politics, but birth happens through our bodies, and not our minds! So the more you look outside of yourself and defer to the experts, the less youll trust the wisdom of your exquisite female body and the more youll give away its power. YOUR power. Just two mums running our own businesses Natural Harmony Traditional Chinese Medicine and My Kind of Birth, both Doulas and passionate about birth and better birth outcomes as well as supporting women on their individual journeys to motherhood. This photo is the very moment that The Confident Birth Expo was born. And now we are less than 10 days away from our very first birth expo. ... Our vision started with bringing local experts and businesses who are in the birth space to one place and starting the very important birth discussions in the community. And that vision expanded as Melbourne based professionals reached out to us.
