24.01.2022 And it all starts again very soon. October will see us host four programs during the month focussing on supporting our Snowy Monaro community impacted by the 2020 fires. We will be also hosting a four-day Men In Flight film project for a national television program. November will see us host an additional three programs for our Snowy Monaro community, our first Men In Flight Program post lock down... and it just gets busier into December and the New Year. ... We look forward to the many joining this family in the coming months and enjoying the wilds of our mountains whilst discover one’s authentic self. Lots of big improvements to the programs as well. If you have any enquires about our community or corporate programs, please email us at [email protected]

22.01.2022 Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa once again extending the helping hand by sponsoring accommodation for those travelling from the back corners of the Snowy Monaro to attend our Bushfire Recovery program. Only months ago, they too were in shut down from the fires. Credit to the team at Lake Crackenback

21.01.2022 The roads less travelled lead to places that can stick with you for a lifetime. The path you are on is your story. It is unique to you, including all its struggles and challenges. But it is through the adversity, parts of you are made that so brilliantly equip you to be a person with purpose, perspective and a deeper empathy for the good things in life. Your story is a beautiful one, work with it, share it and inspire others. ... Happy Friday, get outside

20.01.2022 The hands of a man who had only 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants to his name after the bushfires ripped through his property earlier in the year. John literally lost everything. His home, all his livestock, farm machinery... everything! While John is rebuilding his physical world, we feel very fortunate to be a part of supporting him, along with 59 other blokes in his position through our bushfire recovery program for men in the Snowy Monaro that started today. ... Lots more to walk with us through this program over the coming weeks. Gifts are welcomed contributing to this program.

14.01.2022 To our amazing brother of the Fly family, ambassador Lachlan Mccaffrey for personally playing a brilliant game, but also winning with his Brumbies Rugby team mates the Super Rugby AU title. Well done to the entire Brumby family and to all the players, who we also call brothers. So proud of all of you

13.01.2022 Perspective. Is it blurred out, or is it in focus? For one person in this setting, this image is a blur. The heavy snow and rain settles on the windscreen and the warmth of the car manufactures thoughts that prevent that person from stepping outside into the cold. ... For the other person, the perspective is very clear. Their eyes are focused on a very intricate task, turning a very light leader into a intricate knot with the hope of catching a fish on a fly. One perspective comes from a place where the warmth and comfort masks what's real and the other comes from accepting the cold and works through it. Now who's perspective did you find yourself looking at in this image? The reality is, we have become so conditioned at looking for the path of least resistance in life. In some cases, it is a part of our human instinct and has kept us alive for thousands in years. But on the other hand, it is also impacting the health of our community. Not accepting struggles and finding ways to mask these struggles may seem to make things a little easier to live with at the time. But the reality is, it only compounds the problems at hand. Today marks the first day of World mental Health month. Lets make this a month where we are not afraid to stand, or stand with someone out in the rain.

11.01.2022 We are grateful to the very many who help us with our work. @yeti_au jumped on board, even before formally landing in Australia. They have provided us with some incredible product support, keeping everything that needs to be cold, COLD! And everything hot, HOT! ... We are so proud of all our partners. Partners who don’t just talk the talk, but walk the walk with us! #yetidownunder #builtforthewild #yetiaustralia

10.01.2022 An extraordinary length to go to raising a few bucks for our community programs. Thank you @c3qbn for all your efforts today. The mo is epic

10.01.2022 We are just over half way through a series of programs we are hosting for men in the Snowy Monaro impacted by the 2020 bushfires. It’s been an extraordinary privilege to do this work, meet guys who have been on the frontline fighting for others, some men lost everything and others have made thousands of meals for those who were left with nothing. The Australian community really is a special one... and our local Snowy Monaro is no different. ... More Bushfire and Resilience programs rolling out in 2021.

10.01.2022 It’s been an amazing couple of months back into programs. We have hosted two Men In Flight four day retreats and a handful of our Men In Monaro Bushfire Recovery programs here in the NSW Snowy’s. In the coming weeks before the year is out we have a massive line of programs still to go! ... To everyone who has walked with us through our program, or supports us from the sidelines, thank you. Our family is a big one and that’s what makes it so special.

08.01.2022 We are mid-way through the November program and hit with a storm out on the river. Huddling under trees, others pushed through it... then this Own the challenges people. Something very special can come from it.

08.01.2022 What an amazing country we live in. From arid desert plains, beautiful oceans, rainforests and alpine ranges... Australia is something special. Travel across the borders may be hard right now, but something special lives in your backyard. Something local, something close by and something good for the mind. Take that road, find that place and enjoy the joy wild places brings.

07.01.2022 Authentic. The impact on one’s self can be life changing.

06.01.2022 What an amazing week here in the mountains doing what we love. Mental fitness and building resilience within our Aussie men. Trails travelled, streams explored and stories shared by the fire. It’s authentic, it’s real and that’s what makes it so special.

05.01.2022 Walk with us in 2021 Calendar of events for 2021 go live shortly.

04.01.2022 What a massive week! So many new faces, new friends, new brothers. Three back-to-back programs, over 130 hours of face-to-face community work in just six days! We just love this community and look forward to more programs later in the week. ... #meninflight #bushfirerecovery #snowymonaroregion

04.01.2022 Only days mark the opening of the NSW trout season. Once again anglers of all ages will be heading to our rivers and streams to create some stories and enjoy some time on the water. The reality is, many love to fish because of the places it takes us and the power these places can have on our mindset, it’s not always about the fish.... So if you’re heading out over the next few weeks, stop for a moment while you’re out there and consider what’s really going on as you find yourself unplugging and recharging. Take some deep breaths of that mountain air, exercise your mind and hopefully get a bend in that fishing rod. We wish everyone a safe and recharging open weekend ahead.

04.01.2022 So many great images coming into us of the Fly gear in action. Thank you for everyone who has supported our work by purchasing merch. @chrisherron

04.01.2022 Don’t forget to catch us on Tuesday next week with Cuppa Of Life Cafe at 8:30am. We’ll be sharing @theflyprogram story and how we can use adversity to build resilience . Register at Cuppa Of Life Cafe

04.01.2022 What a great privilege to share our story on national news. Make sure you watch Sunrise on Channel 7 this morning after the 8am news for another special edition and live cross with one of our directors, Michael Thompson. Thank you Channel 7!

03.01.2022 This time next week we will be in Canberra at the beautiful Brindabella Hills Winery. Watch the sunset whilst enjoying some beautiful food and wine. Tickets are on sale now, so please come along and join us for some great company. ... All profits from the event go toward our community work.

01.01.2022 Spring was here... now it’s winter again. It’s something very special about this place here in the mountains. A great reminder that we very rarely have a handle on the controls. Not having control of what is in front of you can seem pretty daunting. But having the skills and support to be flexible and nimble during these times is critical. ... Developing our mental fitness in the outdoors is a match made in heaven. So many underlying narratives co-exist from the person’s story to what is happening around them. It’s a place where can feel physically small but your thoughts draw monumental perspective.
