15.01.2022 In around 2011, I proposed the idea of having QR codes in amongst the photo gallery spreads in the newspaper. The code would take readers who scanned the code to the website that would have the full online gallery for people to view on their phones. I thought it was a cool idea that would immerse readers into our online world. While I was able to convince them to trial the idea in one addition of the newspaper , I was told adamantly "Nobody is using QR codes!". Fast-forward... to 2020 and I feel like I've seen a gabillion QR codes all over the place. So, I'm jumping back on board the bandwagon I first plugged some 9ish years ago. If for only a few stickers and some business cards. Thanks to local business Printrix for hooking me up. You can also visit them at printrix.com.au

12.01.2022 Wow! Ten years since we've experienced the magical dump and burn from the pig or F-111. Pardon the pun, but time sure does fly!

11.01.2022 I have mixed feelings about this. I've watched hundreds of posts today gushing over this new space. The vibe seems as if this is the saviour for our town. Don't get me wrong, I hope it is. And I'll admit, I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw this afternoon. But... A shiny new streetscape dressed up for the grand opening with food vans and free ice cream is great, when there is food fans and free ice cream available for the people to go to. The open space is lovely, and... as a person who didn't grow up with the old mall. I'm not too fussed about losing the rotunda and Alfie Langer laid bricks. But what will be luring people there for the other 95% of the time food trucks aren't booked for the space? I can't see much in the way of spaces made available for niche cafes or similar. The bottom level of the council building would have been perfect. There's an old adage that says that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Today it seems like the horses have taken a big gulp of the water they were led to, and that's great. I just hope there is a constant supply of water to drink from, or they will find somewhere else to drink. I await the next stage of the development, which will hopefully involve the Commonwealth relaunch as well as many other reasons for us to visit this spot.
