12.01.2022 I've had people ask what sort of gear do I use for my home workouts. Well, short of a cable machine most of it is done with bands and dumbbells. Both allow me to workout inside or when the weather is nice, outside. In my gear I have some carabiners to help add extra length. In this video I show you two more KLT workouts to help you move particularly if you have been working from home. These workouts are great for scapula and spinal mobility by providing rotational movement and for building flute strength. The first workout is a single arm anterior push with a split squat The second is a single arm posterior pull with a split squat... Complete two sets of 12-20reps each side at a 5 second tempo. 02.01.2022 As I mentioned yesterday, I'd reveal why there has been a lack of posts especially for those keen on more great KLT workouts. Well, I had an opportunity to help a friend out with this garden maintenance business. It was great to be outside in the fresh air and what a fantastic way to exercise. I can tell you it was physically gruelling! 8 hour days with no break! While KLT has prepared me well, it's like training for a sprint and ending up running a marathon! There was lots... of squatting, lunging, pushing and pulling - fundamental human movements. Think KLT on steroids! Brings me to a couple of points: 1. Consider training in multiple planes of movement. When playing a sport or gardening, the body moves in multiple planes through a movement - it's not linear.. 2. Think load. You may want to take up running, play a sport, trek to Everest Basecamp or just working out - all fantastic pursuits but think about starting small and building the "load" over time. This way you condition your body. By slowly increasing the load you minimise the risk of injury. I'll be back making more KLT videos soon.
