25.01.2022 Tonight (Saturday 12 October) we'll be heading to Pause Restaurant at Samford to play for the good folk there. We'll be joined by special guest Hugh Curtis on fiddle and mandolin - what a treat to have Hugh helping out. Music is from 6:30pm - booking absolutely essential if you want to get a table.

25.01.2022 Richard and I will be brushing up on our Dylan repertoire (plus a few by other notables) for our gig at Pause Restaurant at Samford this Friday, 24 May. It is Bob's birthday after all. Music from 6:30pm. Contact Pause if you want to make a booking.

25.01.2022 We've just finished a last minute run through of some of the songs we will playing at our Songs of War and Peace concert at Pause Restaurant at Samford tomorrow at lunch time. We will be doing some classics such as "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" & "Only 19" ; some originals inspired by my study of WW1 and some surprises that Richard always seems to have up his sleeve. We've even worked up a version of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" by The Band - Brilliant song. I hope we can do it justice.

24.01.2022 This Sunday we will be back at one of our favourite spots - Pause Restaurant at Samford playing some of our own songs and others by some of our favourite Australian artists - Paul Kelly, Shane Howard, James Reyne, John Schuman, Neil Finn. (Yeah we know Neil Finn is a Kiwi but his songs are too good to leave out). The music kicks off at 12 noon. Bookings are essential.

24.01.2022 This Saturday night (16 November) Richard and I are headed north on the highway to Gympie for a gig at the RSL Club on Mary St. We haven't played in that part of the world much since our Spot the Dog days. We'd love to see some friendly faces there. Music from 7:30pm

17.01.2022 The Mystery Dogs, Richard Evans and Mark Cryle at the Junk Bar April 2019 doing our version of Neil Young's Cripple Creek Ferry. This is the extended dance mix with an extra verse that we wrote. When the Full Quid do it we do a 3rd verse written by Dan Grant from Tin Star. What began as 1 min 30 sec sound bite on Neil's After the Gold Rush album, is turning into an epic. Many thanks to Jeff Chandler for the video.

14.01.2022 We have been in the studio recording some original songs with Andrew Heath on bass, Keith Megson on drums and Michael Fix at the controls. Back in for more fun today.

10.01.2022 Almost exactly 100 years after Pete Seeger's birth it is appropriate that The Mystery Dogs will be venturing out tomorrow to the Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast to play a few songs at the Labor Day picnic. Richard has been known to do a version of this one from time time. Every chance we will be playing it tomorrow. Music from around 10am. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iAIM02kv0g

09.01.2022 Tonight Richard and I are doing a set at the fabulous Foco Nuevo in West End. We are on at 7:30pm. We'd love to see you there. http://www.foconuevo.org.au/

06.01.2022 The Mystery Dogs are back from our run of gigs through New England last week. Thanks to those who came out to see us play and to the venue managers and organisers for putting on the shows. It is very evident that the communities in this region are really hurting from the impact of drought and fires. Hats off to the volunteer fire fighters and those helping to rebuild after the damage. All the best from Richard and Mark. Thanks to Cary Bennett for the photos.

05.01.2022 Today Richard and I had fun working up some songs for our "sixties" show at Pause Restaurant at Samford this Friday night. We delved into the back catalogues of The Beatles (of course), Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, The Bee Gees, Manfred Mann and the like. Richard always has a few classics that he keeps in his back pocket for just such an occasion. The music starts at around 6:30pm.
