17.01.2022 Vale Greg Parslow. It is with sadness that we acknowledge that one of our past players has passed on. Greg Parslow unfortunately suffered an episode while riding his bike in the hills. Greg played all his junior baseball with Kensington together with brothers Philip and Scott and became the 210th player to play Division 1 baseball for the Cardinals in the 1981/82 season.... Eventually through employment Greg settled in Mt Gambier where he became involved with the Federal Baseball Club and where his son Matthew started his baseball career. Greg’s expertise in management saw him appointed as President and it was during his tenure that he recommended a number of Federal Baseball Club talented players join Kensington with the view of furthering their baseball careers. A recent work appointment by Mandy necessitated the family move back to Adelaide. This enabled Greg to re associate again with the Cardinals and it was always a pleasure to catch up and chat about the past while he watched Matthew play Division 1 baseball. The Parslow family have a long history with Kensington as Greg’s father Ivan was a junior coach, team manager, President and for his service to the Club was awarded Life Membership in 1991 and one of the Club’s major awards is named in his honour. To Mandy, Mathew, Chloe and to Jacquie, Phillip, Scott the Club extends our deepest sympathies in the sad loss of Greg, a true gentleman and a great person.
