24.01.2022 A couple of months ago I jumped into a mentoring program with 10 amazing women, ran by 2 brilliant women, Caitlin and Anna from @lady.brains. I was lucky enough to be buddied with Kirby who was in the infancy of setting up a community organisation to educate, encourage and empower girls/women in sport. Kirby herself represented Australia at the elite level and recognises the support required for girls in community sport through to the elite level.... @subbed.inc are now delivering a SUB HER IN Program to schools, sporting organisations and the workplace for females! Absolutely love everything that they're doing, so check them out! Cannot wait to introduce our Girl Ride Days. Perfect time to also do a shoutout to @tayla_harris who was recently named Young Victorian of The Year for also promoting gender equality and building respectful relationships, using her own experiences to help educate and raise awareness of the impact behaviours can have. Let's hear it for the girls!

Shona and the fam came to stay with us back in March 2020, here's some kind words reflecting on her stay - "We visited for a family weekend away, and there were 64 of us. This can be tricky for a lot of venues but the team at The Ranch made it so easy.... We did 4 different horse rides to cater for ages and abilities. We had mountain boarding, swimming and rock climbing. The kids could ride their bikes freely and everyone had a relaxed and fun weekend. We can not recommend them highly enough." It's our pleasure! 22.01.2022 ONE MORE DAY! We are sooooo excited to be opening tomorrow. AND We're also super excited to be opening a cafe from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm every weekend! ... Enjoy a coffee and cake while the kids run around, or perhaps they can have a pony ride too! Drivers licence. Must be fit, healthy and able to work with limited supervision. Work situation will be on site at The Ranch, Mornington Peninsula. Must have excellent temperament to work around children and other staff. Pleasant disposition, easy to get along with and works well with others. Must have a current WWCC (Working with Children Check). PRIMARY FOCUS To carry out all cleaning duties and work along side the rest of our cleaning team to ensure all cabins/dormitories and surrounding buildings are cleaned to the highest of standards and are ready for customer / user groups to occupy as required. DUTIES 1. To clean ensuites - vanity, shower, toilet. 2. To clean kitchenettes - wipe down benches and sink. 3. Empty bins. 4. Cleaning windows - inside and out. 5. Cobwebbing and dusting. 6. Mopping and Vacuuming. 7. Making sure there's no rubbish in and around the front of the cabins. 8. Assist in making beds where required.

06.01.2022 We love receiving emails about your visits to The Ranch! Here's some lovely words following a trail ride ------... Good morning, On Saturday 21 November, my family did a beginners trail ride with Amber. My daughters are 7 and 11 and while having ridden a couple of times both were quite nervous, and my 7 year old started crying once we set off. Amber was wonderful at reassuring Maddie, giving instruction and helping her find her confidence while she rode Termite. It was so brilliant to see Maddie dry her tears, smile and truly enjoy the ride. Thank you Amber, for making such a positive impact on my little girl. We can't wait to come back again. 05.01.2022 Since there are some lovely new faces around, we thought it would be a great time for a Q+A with Jodi, co-owner at The Ranch! When did The Ranch come into your life, and did you ever think it would become your home? My husband and I took over just over 4 years ago. We knew eventually that we'd live out here as it's so beautiful :)... How has living on The Ranch changed your views on bringing up your little ones? Our kids will sure have a vast skill set!! Indie was such a footy boy (and he still is) but to see him with the horses is really special. He is so good with them, he has such a great bond and is extremely observant. He notices if something is wrong with one of them (e.g. cut their leg) as soon as the horses come in. He's also becoming a great little rider. Sage also loves the horses, but she's still a bit young to have the concentration or patience. It really is a great life for the kids and they have a lot of great role models (in our staff) What advice would you give someone who is currently chasing their dreams? Go for it!!! What have you got to lose? When I first met Az he said to me " a wise man once told him that life's no dress rehearsal, we were born on opening night!" I always remembered it. Chase your dreams, but enjoy the ride to get there.

04.01.2022 Did you know that horses can pick up on and understand human emotions Psychologists demonstrated that horses could recognise a human’s mood from their facial expressions and differentiate between anger and happiness. Without training the horses, the psychologists showed 28 horses several pictures of unfamiliar faces either angry or smiling. Then, they had the people from the images meet the horses, wearing neutral expressions.... In each case, the horses responded negatively to the people presented as angry and positively to those shown as happy. Not only that, but horses are the first non-human mammal known to have the ability to recognise, analyse, respond to and remember human emotions - amazing! @ellen.talitha.photography
