21.01.2022 Hi all, just wanted to post a little update from us here at the RIGBY, socially distanced of course I have had the privilege of working in hospitality for over 25 years. Without doubt, the last 3 weeks have been the most difficult of those 25 years. The impact of the new regulations governing how we can operate has decimated our small family business. I have gone from running one of the busiest bars and restaurants in Maitland to a very quiet little bar. ... Sadly I have had to stand down staff who have worked with me for, in some cases over a decade. In hospitality it is the staff that make a place what it is. I have been fortunate to have tremendous staff, staff who have your back, staff who go the extra mile, staff who have always made sure the customer comes first, staff we see as family. Standing these people down amid this terrible circumstance we find ourselves in has not been easy. the RIGBY will reopen once this terrible pandemic situation eases and we are able to run our bar as normal. In the meantime I have today made the decision to pause our night time activities - takeaway cocktails, wines and food - whilst Nick plans a new cocktail and takeaway menu. We remain open weekdays 8am to 11am for the coffee you enjoy, served by the lovely Amy. Please drop in for a coffee next week and stay tuned for our next update. We'll have posters up featuring a QR code, scan that & enter the details for each guest in your party then we can show you to your table. These details are securely held for 28 days as required by NSW Government, after which they'll be deleted.
