21.01.2022 What are your thoughts on leading right now? I came across this great article and the following quote got me thinking - Leaders are having to be a lot more connected with their team and in doing so should be learning a lot more about people - Kristine Dery, Research Scientist with MIT's Centre for Information Systems Research What are your experiences with this? Has your boss or leader been working with you differently? In the cut and thrust of corporate life, it can be e...asy to become the work machine. To keep moving no matter what. In recent times I have had the pleasure of consulting with a client in the VET sector. What I have noticed is how strong the relational ways of working are. When I coach people we talk about the negotiation space and how to navigate it. Finding common ground and not seeing one another as an adversary helps to bring all parties into the conversation in a way that both see they can gain from it. Many things we do are a negotiation. Perhaps COVID-19 can be thanked for bringing people together in a way we haven't been for some time? If you have time read this article. I found it interesting and I'm reminded again that balancing being a 'worker' with being a person is so important. "

20.01.2022 This is worth a read. Knowing your worth is something I'm passionate about. 'Self-worth is already available within you now; it’s just a matter of you recognizing it.’ When I lost my job five years ago due to redundancy, I had to take a long hard look in the mirror. The ill-framed words of my boss "and I don’t want you there", at the time, struck me the most and did the most damage. The time it took for me to process and contextualise this was longer than I wanted it to be. ...Yet, the process I went through to really know my worth (again) has been the most rewarding. I learnt that no one has the right to take your worth from you with action and words. I learnt that all I needed was within me. I had to tap into it and own it once again. I learnt to take that space back and unequivocally own it. The confidence that comes from knowing in your heart and mind is remarkable and buoying. What do you think? #knowyourworth #success #forbes #value #worth #business #coach #coaching

04.01.2022 Over the last 20 years I’ve been coaching clients towards advocating for themselves towards success in their career. I launched The Salary Coach because I wanted to inspire people to transform the way they think, feel and see themselves as professionals, into someone who knows why they are so valuable in the workplace. In order to help clients recognise their skills, value and take control of their career, we get to the core of what their achievements are and what their wort...h is to, help them secure what they deserve. I take a hearts and minds approach with clients that is to help clients to know and believe they are worth it in themselves. I don’t love the word entrepreneur but for lack of a better word, it's what best describes the path my career has taken. You'll see more of The Salary Coach on your feed as I continue to build the brand. 04.01.2022 Like many ‘glamorous’ industries, film and television are notorious for low pay. So, despite the fact that I’ve been doing this for years, I felt certain that whatever raise I asked for would be shut down. It’s the price you pay for doing a job you love, right? Catherine was able to make me see just how wrong that idea was. Loving your job means you give more and should be paid accordingly. Through Catherine’s coaching, I was able to build up my confidence in my work and tru...ly understand my value. From there, we came up with a clear game-plan for me to approach my manager with. In our meeting, my manager was surprised by my preparation and confidence, and I got the raise I was hoping for 6%! Do you want to be able to say the same? This is why I have developed the online education for The Salary Coach so more individuals like yourself can begin to truly value your worth as an employable asset. Try for yourself and work through it online at your own pace https://bit.ly/TSConlinecourse

03.01.2022 I’ve just met with a new client who came to me through LinkedIn, in our discussion she mentioned to me that when it comes to interviews she would rather pull her hair out. The truth is, for some people it can be really awkward having to talk about themselves. This new client told me 'I hate it, perhaps its because I am a woman?’. It is not unique to women. In my experience, men also feel anxious, nervous, uptight and awkward about interviews. It shows up differently for everyone. #interview #career #assertive #bestfootforward #business #success
