21.01.2022 UPDATE: Green Room Performance Postponed Due to the risk of spreading coronavirus, we have decided that the Green Room performance advertised for this Saturday night will be postponed until a future date to be decided, after the national emergency is over. We are conscious of our duty of care for our patrons - a large group of people in the confines of our auditorium and foyer could easily result in the spread of infection. While this is disappointing for everyone who ...has worked hard on the production, we feel that prompt action is appropriate at this time. Please watch this space for further updates!

14.01.2022 Rep. Green Room Production on 3rd July What is a Green Room Anyway??? Members and friends who have been around the Rep for a while will remember we used to do several Green Rooms a year. Actually, we haven’t done one for many years.... A Green Room production is essentially a performance of a one act play in front of members, family and friends for one night only. It has two basic purposes: Firstly, it gives the opportunity for new actors, crew and directors to try their hand at this business without the responsibility of the reputation of the theatre on their shoulders. The pressure is (somewhat) off. It’s a great training ground. Secondly, members who do not have the time to be part of one of our main productions, which can be extremely time consuming, get the opportunity to be part of the life of the theatre. On 3rd July, we are peforming two one-act plays: An excerpt from St Joan by George Bernard Shaw a classic historical drama. Director Kathie Hendon. Mr Foot by Michael Frayn a comedy with a thought-provoking plot. Director Mike Taylor These plays are gems, and we have great casts lined up, so it promises to be a wonderful night of live theatre. Ticket prices are miniscule - $10 each (no concessions) and include a glass of wine and nibbles. This value is unbeatable!! Please note we prefer people to book online so that the Covid contact tracing is simplified. There is a link on the Rep website.

10.01.2022 || A Love Letter from The Rep || Hello to our society members (past and present), dedicated audience members and the general public. We regret to inform you that the Society has had to cancel all remaining productions for the 2020 year.... Although restrictions may be lifted sufficiently by November to allow the theatre to reopen, it is unlikely we could adequately rehearse and prepare a show ahead of that time. This is such a shame as this year we were going to celebrate our ninetieth year of the Society. We will now likely postpone that celebration to late this year or early next year. Fear not as we are set to resume operations again early in 2021.
