25.01.2022 Hello Willows Families, This is our first week using the new sign-in platform - Xplor. Thank you so much for your patience!... HAVE YOU SET UP YOUR XPLOR ACCOUNT YET? You should have recently received an email from XPLOR with links and instructions. Parents are prompted to create an account (separate account for both parents)in order to sign their children in and out each day. Anyone who collects a child, who is not a parent or legal guardian, can be added by a parent as a "hub guest" through the app. If you require any help, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We will have a team member available in the office to help anyone requiring assistance. Follow the link below for some great tutorials to show you step-by-step how to set up and use your Xplor account.

18.01.2022 5 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS AT THE WILLOWS For the first time in 23 years, we will sadly not be holding our Annual Family Christmas Party. Instead, we have planned a week of festive activities to celebrate another year of learning and growing alongside one another. Every day, the attending children will engage in a special planned experience and be treated to a Middleton’s Ice block. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know!

17.01.2022 Next week is NAIDOC week! Unfortunately, this year, we are unable to get involved in the Orange NAIDOC march, so we’ve decided to hold our own! Next Tuesday, the children, educators and staff will march around the paddock in celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are so proud to belong to a country that is home to the world’s longest living continuous culture. This year’s theme Always Was, Always Will Be a...cknowledges that Australian history extends back more than 65,000 years and reminds us that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. (NAIDOC, 2020). To find out more about NAIDOC week, go to https://www.naidoc.org.au How do you plan to celebrate NAIDOC week?

15.01.2022 We get outdoors all year ‘round from birth - rain, snow, or shine! Now that the Orange winter is creeping in, please remember to bring along appropriate (and labelled!) clothing warm jackets, beanies, gloves, gumboots with plenty of spares. Layering is a great technique; a good rule of thumb is to put your children in one more layer than you would wear in the same conditions. At The Willows, we practice an indoor-outdoor program, meaning children have access to indoor and ...outdoor environments simultaneously - for our older children, this occurs almost all day long. We are very conscious of ensuring that children's health, safety and comfort are promoted and prioritised at all times and endeavour to share information with families about why getting outdoors in all weather is believed to be a hallmark of high-quality practice in early years education and care. Please don'y hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks and have a lovely day, The Willows team.

11.01.2022 We are excited! One month to go til the Aussie Backyard Bird Count! Australia’s largest annual bird count event is back for its 7th year! Held between 192...5 October, the Aussie Backyard Bird Count is a great way to connect with the birds in your backyard, no matter where your backyard happens to be. You can count in a suburban backyard, a local park, a patch of forest, down by the beach, or the main street of town. In fact, you don't even have to leave home, making it the ultimate Covid-safe activity! To take part all you need is 20 minutes and your favourite outdoor space. Not only will you be contributing to BirdLife Australia's knowledge of Aussie birds, but there are also some great prizes on offer. Head over to the Aussie Backyard Bird Count website and register as a Counter today! https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/ The yearly bird count gives us a snapshot in time of bird numbers around the nation so if you’ve participated before and are raring to go remember the app doesn’t kick in until the count begins on 19 October (one month to go!). #AussieBirdCount See more
