22.01.2022 There were some beautiful cloudy days last week...this week there's sunshine in Sydney and I am bemoaning the fact that after being a wee bit smug last week about not being sick since I had surgery a little over a year ago, it seems my sturdy immune system has again joined the ranks of the common folk with the Winter unwellnesses and I have a bit of a chest infection...but my Grandmother used to encourage sitting in the sun when sick, so I may see if I can manage a few hours on the deck at the pool tomorrow, under the blue skies and not so blazing winter sun...pursuing the lighter side, so to speak!

20.01.2022 This isn’t a great shot, it’s just the iPhone as I walked to the car after our Sydney West Artistic Photographers meeting tonight. We came up with some ideas to get up some momentum for our art practice...the theme for the month is movement. I had a busy week...bits of work, work on me in the water, a dinner with my sister (who’s been very creative with yarn) and brother in law, a photography meeting and a writers meeting. The Writers were also feeling the need for a push on our writing practice...so we have a topic too, separation...I feel a creative month coming on...including with tax preparation We talked tonight about the importance of sharing our creative endeavours...so here you go.

17.01.2022 Another quick snap of movement...this quirky creature was crossing the road outside the Granville pool where I went walking with a friend this afternoon...it did make me think I should have the DSLR more to hand...it’s not taking many shots from where it’s hanging on the back of the bedroom door lol!

16.01.2022 The creative juices are being squeezed as I write some little essays for a photography competition that closes tonight, so amidst the furniture moving, the holiday packing, and some cleaning, I'm loving the challenge of writing on the topics "Distance, Perspective: The Landscape as Tribe"; "The Ache to Belong: Monochrome Naming" (which goes with this photo), and "Presence: The Self in the Helter-Skelter of Arriving".

14.01.2022 Recovering from the flu and no energy today, so I'm lying in bed watching and listening to the movement out the window and wanting to sit in the wind, but there's definitely a bit of wind chill today. I did grab the camera from the back of the door and tried to photograph the movement on the walls...I didn't honestly make much of an effort, but it was a nice way to focus on movement. Funny how I struggle with the movement though, I want a crisp, still image of the movement and I'm not sure that was the point really...
