25.01.2022 *Thomastown Cricket Club 2k Reverse Draw* The Thomastown Cricket Club hosted our annual reverse draw on Sunday just passed,and it was a smashing success. It was a fantastic day had by everyone who was there, with plenty of Thomastown faithful in attendance, as well as some new faces who joined in the festivities.... Congratulation's to the winners on the day. Wombat Loans, Vicki Alberti and Sebastian John. We would also like to thank Paul Lacey for his performance. We look forward to next years draw, which is guaranteed to be bigger and better. A BIG thank you also needs to go to the TCC committee members who help set up and run the day.



25.01.2022 TWOS IN THE GRAND FINAL In a thrilling game, the Thomastown Cricket Clubs 2nd XI is into the grand final! TCC: All out 192 ... Lou Alberti 113 Jordan Cugnetto 47 Def TUCC: All out 178 Saahil Bhatnagar 3/42 James Thapa 2/28 After being 6/44 at one stage on day 1, Louie and Jordy put on 107 for the 7th wicket, to take us to a more than competitive 192 on day 1. Day 2 was thrilling throughout, with partnerships happening at stages. There were wickets falling through the day, the highlight being 3 run outs. It is a historic weekend coming up for the club, as we head into the grand final next week v Bundoora Park at Bundoora Parks home ground! We hope to see all the Thomastown faithful there next Saturday and Sunday! Go Thommo

The boys will be looking to notch their first wins of the season, across all grades.... 22.01.2022 2nd XI go down Fighting Unfortunately over the weekend, the boys in the Thomastown CC 2's have fallen short of victory in their Grand Final v Bundoora Park. BPCC: All out 145... James Thapa 4/13 Steve Rattray-Wood 2/14 Def TCC: All out 85 Jason Cope 28 Lou Alberti 20 Although we fell short on the day, we could not be more proud of the boys that were apart of this group, from where we have been in the past, to where we were on the weekend. Is a remarkable change. We are disappointed but already looking to bounce back in the 20/21 season. Thanks to all the Thomastown faithful for all their support over the weekend and the year. We couldn't of done it without you.

21.01.2022 2ND XI Semi Final day The weekend has arrived for our boys in the twos, who today and tomorrow will play the clubs first senior final in 10 years. We are calling on all TCC supporters to get down, and cheer us on as much as possible. Against our cross town rivals Thomastown United.... Getting underway today and tomorrow from 1pm. We hope to see everyone there in support!

21.01.2022 Steve 500 Finishing off a long week of celebrations, yesterday was finally the day of Steve Rattray-Woods 500th. We thank everyone who wished Steve well during the week, there was an outpouring of messages.... We also thank Bundoora Parks D grade team, for forming a guard of honor, as Steve ran through his banner. As can be seen below. Once again, we congratulate Steve on his incredible achievement and thank him for everything he has done and will do for the Thomastown Cricket Club. Well done Steve.

19.01.2022 TCC Round 2 Match Reports (apologies for missing round 1 ) 1st XI: V Thomastown United @Home ... TUCC: 10/176 Sammy 3/21 TCC: All out 79 A disappointing day with the bat for the boys in the first XI. After a strong performance in the back end of the innings with the ball, the boys could not back it up. We look forward to bouncing back this weekend. 2nd XI: V Thomastown United- Away TCC: 8/154 Dave Pham 77 Def TUCC: 9/122 Seb 4/18 (8) A solid day for the boys in the 2nd XI, notching up our first win of the season. In a solid batting display, the boys posted 155. Dave continuing his form. Making 77. With the ball, the boys showed great discipline and were also fantastic in the field, to notch up the win. 3rd XI: V Old Paradians- Away OPCC: All out 166 M Howes 3/26 Def TCC: All out 152 P Richardson 49 A close loss for the boys in the 3rd XI. After a solid performance with the ball and in the field. The boys fell just short of OPCC target on a small ground. Richo was the shining light with the bat, posting 49. The boys look forward to playing at home this weekend. 4th XI (just proud to say we have a 4th team) V Thomastown United- home. TCC: 3/165 Dave Farchione (welcome back) 70no Def by TUCC: 2/170 Frank Farch 2/18 A solid performance by the boys in the 4th XI, despite the loss. It is fantastic to have Dave Farchione back at the club. He posted a lovely 70no. With the ball, the boys were slightly out classed, but it was a fighting effort nonetheless. We wait until later in the week to find out who we play this round.

19.01.2022 Final H&A Selection & Meals TCC would like to invite everyone down to our final selection and meal night of the home and away season. We would also like to invite down our successful vets team! Who took out the flag on Sunday just gone.... On the menu is 1/4 chicken and chips, with salad The 1s and 3s are keen to finish the season on a good note. The 2s have unfinished business at hand.

13.01.2022 TCC Leadership Announcement The Thomastown Cricket Club would would like to announce their leaders heading into the 2020/21 Cricket season (whenever that may be) Nick Fellows and Jordan Cugnetto have been re-appointed as captains of the 1st and 2nd XI respectively. We think it is fantastic for the club to have such young leaders, pushing to the club forward into the future.... We would also like to announce the appointment of Frank Farchione, the new captain of the 3rd XI. Frank is a life member of the Thomastown Cricket Club, and he could not be more excited to step into the role ahead of the season. He brings plenty of experience and shows great leadership for the role. Special mention to Glenn Thomas who has had to step aside from the roll due to work commitments. We thank Glenn for his fantastic efforts over the past two seasons. We look forward to seeing him grace the field this season, when possible. Best of luck to the leaders ahead of the season. We know all the TCC faithful will be supporting you all the way.

12.01.2022 TCC Round 5 Match Summary (once again apologies for missing round 4) 1st XI: V Panton Hill... TCC: All out 179 Kanisha 62 L Andrews 63 Def PHCC: All out 156 N Fellows 2/18 The first XI have notched up there first win of the season! After the tough start to the season, the boys have put in a couple of solid weeks on the track and have come away with there seasons first win! Special mention to Kanishka and Liam on a pair of classy innings. We also defended the total very well, with everyone pitching in. 2nd XI: V Montmerency TCC: All out 126 J Perko 46 Def by MCC: 9/130 J Tuapa 3/24 The boys in the second XI have had a heart breaking loss over the weekend, going down by one wicket late in the game. Whilst it was a fantastic effort with the ball and in the field. Our batting well and truly let us down, from most of the line up on the day. We look forward to bouncing back this weekend. 3rd XI: V Mernda TCC: 7/176 P Howes 38 M Howes 35 Def MCC: All out 111 A Singh 2/15 A Fantastic all round performance from the boys in the 3rd XI, notching up a solid win on the weekend. Their second of the campaign. Batting the first, the boys posted 176 and never looked back. Great effort by the boys in the 3s 4th XI: V Bundoora United TCC: 5/150 Muff 64 Farch 42 Def by BUCC: 3/151 Vakul 1/12 The boys in the 4s batted first and posted a very competitive score, shout outs to muff and farch who put in fantastic efforts with the bat, posting 64 and 42 respectfully. Unfortunately the boys couldn't defend it with the ball, but with a young talented line up they will learn a lot as the season progresses. With one more game before the Christmas break, all 4 teams will be looking to finish on a positive note.

Thusith Udayanga 27 Saahil Bhatnagar 25 TIED WITH DCC: 4/137 Shanaka Sampath 2/27 Daniel Wooster 1/31 A fantastic effort from the boys in the 1st XI, fighting back hard late to earn a tie. The game was tight throughout, with Diamond Creek holding the upper hand at stages. Some great death bowling at the end from Shanaka, earned us the tie. 2nd XI: V Thomastown United @Main Street Reserve #2 TUCC: 9/110 James Thapa 3/23 Lou Alberti 2/13 Def By TCC: 6/112 Jason Cope 37no The Thomastown 2nd XI have come away with a win against our rivals from across the train tracks. Getting home in a nail biting finish. The boys bowled really well, keeping TUCC to a chase-able score. Our 2nd XI have managed to qualify 2nd on the ladder in E Grade, earning them a home final this coming Saturday and Sunday.... We once again take on our rivals from across the train tracks, in Thomastown United. Getting underway from 1pm, both this Saturday and Sunday. 04.01.2022 GAME ON Finally, after a long run of being trapped inside during the winter months, we are back out on the cricketing field tomorrow! In some fantastic additional news for the club, we have entered a 4th XI for the first time in 40+ years as a stand alone Thomastown Cricket Club. It is a huge achievement for the club and shows how much work we have been putting in off the field. We are heading in the right direction.... 04.01.2022 Welcome Back Today the club received news that we are able to enter our rooms starting from tomorrow nights training session and beyond! We will need to follow the below guidelines, until restrictions are further eased!... 1. We can have a maximum of 20 in the social rooms at any one time 2. Bar & Canteen have to close an hour after training or matches complete 3. 15 people are allowed in each of the change rooms Hopefully these will change after the 23/11 when we move to stage The bar will be open this Thursday night from 5pm and canteen and bar on Saturday from 12.30pm. Please ensure that you social distance and when moving around rooms you have a mask on We look forward to having all the Thomastown faithful back supporting the club ahead of an exciting season!

Will be a one day encounter this coming Saturday ... 2nd XI: V Thomastown United at home #2 Also did not get on due to rain. Now a one dayer this Saturday. 3rd XI: Laurimar @Mernda Recreation Reserve. TCC: 3/154 (59 overs) P Howes 57 Tristan Paterson 32no Dom Cugno 20 Remarkably this was one of only 4 games to commence this round. The 3s boys have put themselves in a good spot, with a determined and gutsy performance. Let by the evergreen Pete Howes. The boys still have some overs to bat out this coming Saturday.

01.01.2022 2019/20 Presentation Night In all that is currently going on in the world at the moment, we were lucky to successfully cap off the TCC cricketing season on Friday night, held at out long term sponsors the Casa D'Abruzzo Club. We like to thank everyone who attended on Friday, in some tough times. All the award winners on the night are as follows:... 1st XI: Tony Fellows Medal: Shanaka Sampath Batting: Thusith Udayanga Bowling: Shanaka Fielding: Jake Cugnetto A tricky season for our first XI, but there was some fantastic performances throughout the season, and we did count ourselves unlucky on numerous occasions. On wards and upwards to next year. 2nd XI: Steve Rattray Wood Medal: Jason Cope Batting: Jason Cope Bowling: James Thapa Fielding: Jason Cope A fantastic year for the 2nd XI, culminating in a Grand Final. Unfortunately we could not get the job done across the two days, but nonetheless a fantastic season considering how the past few seasons have gone. We cannot wait to go one step further next year. 3rd XI: Thirds Best & Fairest: Michael Howes Batting: Michael Howes Bowling: Michael Howes Fielding: Dom Cugno A season of fantastic improvement for our 3s, after being rooted to the bottom of the ladder for the previous few seasons. Coaches award: Daniel Wooster Presidents Award: Paul Stewart Best Club man: Mick Dunn We would also like to congratulate Liz Dunn, who on Friday night was voted in as a life member of this fantastic club. Liz has done tireless amounts of work over the years for this club, and no one is more deserving of the honor. Congrats Liz! Last but not least, we would like to thank Paul Stewart and Jason Cope. Who will be stepping down from their respective roles as coach and president of our club. Those two boys took over the roles in one of the darkest times our club has seen, and nearly single handily brought there club to where it is today, in a much stronger position on and off the field. We cannot thank those two guys enough for their years of service. We would be no where without you. Thank you to everyone who took the field for TCC this year, as well as all of the committee. 01.01.2022 Meals/Training/Selection are back The Christmas/New year break is over, the cricket begins once agian. Training resumes tonight at our Main street home, and we are excited to get back into the swing of things!... Meals will be on tonight with pasta on the menu. There will also be salad and garlic bread on the side. $10. Hoping to see the Thomastown faithful back at the club tonight. With the slight re-tightening of COVID laws, masks must be worn inside.
