25.01.2022 Hello one and all! Hope you have been keeping safe and well over the last few weeks. With restrictions being slowly lifted, we may have some news soon on when we get get back to our area! In the mean time I have been very lucky to snap some of local wildlife in our neighbourhood, this video is of a Squirrel Glider found on the board walk in Thornlands

25.01.2022 Hello one and all! Hope you are all safe and well during this difficult time. As you can imagine we have suspended all Bushcare rejuvenation activities until further notice. If you have time on your hands you may find the following link informative and useful ... Stay safe! https://npq.org.au/growing-native-plants/guides

22.01.2022 Saturday saw our last bushcare of 2020 We cleared so much Ochna from near the dam, lots of weeding and all the plants that were planted at the beginning at the month had a a good watering - Thank you Sophie (who is our youngest Bushcarer!) Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who had made bushcare happen in 2020. We have made so much progress and I am sure 2021 will be just as productive. ... Bushcare will resume in March 2021. Until then we would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy and safe new year!

20.01.2022 On the 5th September we held our first post covid bush care meeting. It was a very productive afternoon with lots of non native plants and weeds taken up and some native trees and shrubs planted. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to see that there had been some significant damage created in our area during the last 2-3 months. We appreciate that there needs to be an area for people to enjoy their BMX bikes but unfortunately our area is not the place to do it. The tracks we...re deemed unsafe and Council had to be informed. What was even more disappointing was the fact that council had placed a sign up stating that it was illegal to make bike tracks in the bushland and numerous times the sign was thrown in the dam and most recently it was totally destroyed! If you feel that strongly about having a BMX track then please contact council and express your desire for a BMX track in our community - we’ll support you in whatever way we can. We have spent the last 2 years creating an area to encourage people to enjoy the area including the scenery and wonderful wildlife we have there, a lot of hard work has gone into this from the local community. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers If you’d like to join us our next meeting is on the 10th October at 2pm.

14.01.2022 April’s official Bushcare get together! On Saturday 10th April we planted 30 trees and shrubs in our area. We planted some gum trees for the koalas, She-Oaks for the Glossy Black cockatoos, Richmond Birdwing Vines for the Richmond Birdwing Butterflies and a coffee plant for the bushcare workers ... Others that were planted were Banksias, paperbarks and Lomandras! All the trees that were planted are for wildlife where their population is decreasing! A great job was done by all! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who give up their time for the better of our community #redlandscoast

14.01.2022 Hello all! We have decided to not go ahead today with Bushcare. There is a lot of debris on the pathway and we don’t know if this has been done by council so we will await for a response. 13.01.2022 I’ve had some lovely walks through our neighbourhood this week, managed to see a couple of wallabies in our patch, Mabel the Koala in Henry Ziegenfusz Park, some butterflies that I’ve never seen before, some itchy caterpillars and a pair of Tawny Frogmouths. Happy Easter to you all - remember we are one day closer to a healthier environment

10.01.2022 Good Deeds are done on Good Friday! We were having some trees and plants delivered for our official Bushcare meet on the 10th April so a few got together to prepare the area! 01.01.2022 Lots of weeding and tidying up yesterday! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, without you there would be no bushcare Our trees and plants that we planted in October looked really happy with the rain that we’ve had plus our creek is full again ... If you have time have a stroll through, you may get to see some water dragons, turtles, kookaburras, kingfishers and a wallaby or two. Stay tuned for dates of our last meet of 2020
