21.01.2022 Practice update! All patients to our practice over the next few weeks will be required to wear a mask to their session (with the exception of gym classes). For this week we are able to supply those that do not bring their own, but after this week going forward we will have to charge $1 per mask. . Let's all do what we can to #stopthespread

19.01.2022 MOVEMENT MONDAYS: Reps and sets! A common question we get is 'why do I have to do x reps of this exercise, and y of this other exercise?' It turns out that doing different numbers of repetitions (that are appropriately challenging) cause different adaptations in your muscle! As a general rule of thumb, high reps low weight builds endurance, high weight low reps builds strength, and moderate weight with low reps and high speed builds power! . 17.01.2022 MOVEMENT MONDAYS - BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING Bloodflow restriction training is one of the many tools our physiotherapists have at their disposal to get you feeling, getting and staying better. While lifting heavy weights is still the best way to build strength (Hughes, 2017), BFR is a great alternative for those with conditions or injuries that limit their ability to load up their joints. BFR is great, but with certain health conditions it is not advisable or carrie...s a slight risk. As such, we'd advise you check with one of our team prior to trying it out. . #physiotherapy #injuryrecovery #staybetter #bloodflowrestriction #thornleigh @ Thornleigh Performance Physiotherapy See more

07.01.2022 EXERCISE AND PAIN Exercise is hard enough before you throw pain into the mix, but how do you know if the pain is just coming from tired muscles or whether there's an underlying injury causing it? 05.01.2022 A sad farewell to our awesome weekend receptionist Henry, who completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy qualification this year with Macquarie University. While we're definitely going to miss you Henry, we're so excited to see where you go with your physio career!

01.01.2022 Wishing our lovely receptionist Tina a happy birthday for tomorrow! The practice would be complete chaos without this amazing woman
