24.01.2022 Two dynamic members of our club, Swagata(left) and Vanessa(right). Vanessa recently won the Division Speech competition. That is a big deal! It means she competed against the best of Perth's Toastmaster speakers. Next, it's District level (all of WA), and from there, the world! ... If you want to see Vanessa , and all the other accomplished speakers we have in our club, in action, visit us next Tuesday night 7pm at 2 Hassel Drive, Bull Creek ( behind the library) We are considered one of Perth's top Toastmaster clubs. So, if you've been thinking of dipping your toe in the water of public speaking, we are the place to go

22.01.2022 This is Michael (right) , our newest member being welcomed into our club by our esteemed President Julian Sergiovani. Michael is joining us from another club and we are thrilled to have him as he is a proficient speaker having served as a president of his previous club but also won speech competitions to a high level. Michael delivered a hilarious tonic ( 1-2 min light hearted speech). But what I admired the most about Michael is that he wants to challenge himself. He wants... to incorporate humour more into longer speeches, something that he is not accustomed to. Well if the tonic was anything to go by, we know you'll smash your goal Michael. Are you willing to challenge yourself? Getting up to speak in public is one of the things people fear not the most. But as Friedrich Nietzsche said and what Kelly Clarkson sings, "What doesn't kill you , make you stronger" :D Are you up for the challenge? We meet every Tuesday at 7pm

21.01.2022 Great energy, new members, guests. Toastmaster meetings at Murdoch Southsiders are never the same old.

19.01.2022 Another great meeting tonight at the largest Toastmasters club in WA. This evening we had the pleasure of listening to our new member Angie give her Icebreaker ( first ) speech. A very engaging story about her life and how she finally ended up in Australia.

19.01.2022 Our member Joe Thomas giving a short inspirational speech to kick off our meeting. He gives his perspective on the the subject of failure

18.01.2022 Last night, another vibrant meeting led by none other than Deryll Chan who debuted as Toastmaster for the evening. Deryll joined our club less than a year ago and wow, has she blossomed as a speaker! When she first joined us, she could barely get out a few words. Now she is lively , expressive and animated. She pulled off her role with aplomb. The other debut was Wilson. Talk about newbies. Wilson came to our Open Day on Sunday and delivered his first speech last night, parti...cipating in our Table Topics (impromptu speaking) and took away first prize, a roll of toilet paper ( I know, random!). Special shout out to another fresh member Gnana who only joined us a month ago and last night won speech of the evening ( sorry Gnana, forgot to take a photo) If you've been pining away at home on a Tuesday night wishing you could be a more confident person, isn't it time you visited us instead?

16.01.2022 Get your scary on. Tonight we're getting a jump on Halloween with a Halloween themed meeting. Lined up is a vampire council and a round robin of horror stories. There may even be the odd jump scare! We will be dressing for the occasion as well, so it's going to be a very entertaining way to spend an otherwise mundane Tuesday evening. Whatever You Do, Don’t Fall Asleep.

15.01.2022 Another night, another Toastmasters meeting. But it's never just another meeting. Tonight we had two "Icebreakers" , first speeches given by new members. Always a delight to listen to because the speakers talk about themselves and their life experiences. Since we have a such a diversity of cultures we always have fascinating stories to listen to. Tonight was the night for newbies. We had two visitors who participated in our Table Topics impromptu speeches and did well at it, brave souls! We also had a brand new member , Wilson, deliver a Tonic. From the calibre of our new members speeches tonight we are going to be a selection of very skilful speakers in our club in a very short time.

12.01.2022 Some speeches from our 25th Anniversary meeting. An example of how entertaining public speaking can be!

12.01.2022 To be or not to be a Public Speaker? It is a matter of how you want to be heard.

12.01.2022 Who would be my date tonight?

10.01.2022 Fancy an evening of free comedy? Tomorrow our club is having it’s annual humorous speaking competition. It will be a night of great entertainment as we’re also having our Table Topics (impromptu speaking) the same night. You won’t want to miss it!

09.01.2022 Great meeting this week, never a dull moment at our club. The Toastmaster for the evening was none other than the lovely Yohana Tobing who has only been with us since February. She pulled the role off well running a seamless meeting. We had a selection of interesting speeches, speaker of the night was awarded to Bandula for his speech on why we compare ourselves negatively with others. Our esteemed president Julian Sorgiovanni dimmed the lights and gave us a sneak preview of a Halloween themed meeting for next month. Watch this space!

09.01.2022 Could you get up and give a spontaneous speech on any topic? That's what Toastmasters do every week. Our impromptu speaking segments , known as Table Topics, are one of of the highlights of the meeting. Though it can be unnerving to get up and immediately start replying to a question posed to you , it's a great exercise for your brain. You literally have to think on your feet. There a technique to master the challenge, it's part of what you learn when you become a Toastmaster. Why don't you come along next Tuesday and check us out?

08.01.2022 25th anniversary of Murdoch Southsiders Toastmasters club and still going strong! here is a photo of our new committee and also Ling Morton, the club's "grandmother" ,also voted in as our ToastMaster of the year! More photos and videos coming

08.01.2022 Ordinary people making extraordinary speeches. What would it be like for you if you were super charged with confidence and get up and speak passionately in front a crowd? That's what visitors to our Open Day witnessed today. When you keep doing the same thing over and over, you will remain the same person and keep living the same life over and over. Do something different and come to one of our meetings. We meet every Tuesday night from 7-8:30pm. We can guarantee you will not be disappointed

07.01.2022 The photos say it all. Who says you have to stick to the regular agenda in a Toastmasters meeting? Debates over whether vampires should recommence sucking blood post Covid, round robin horror stories, and a bit of improv thrown in. What a fun evening!

07.01.2022 Hey everybody! We had a rip snorter of a meeting last night with some great speeches. The Table Topics ( impromptu speaking ) was led by none other than our new club president Julian Sorgiovanni. Wow, some deep questions were asked of audience members , such as what would be your first reaction if you just lost all your possessions in a fire. The responses were insightful. Please do not miss our meeting next Tuesday, July 7th. It will be our club’s 25th Anniversary and it will a cracker of a night with some captivating speeches. Look forward to seeing you there.

06.01.2022 We just keep going from strength to strength. Welcome to our new member , Moses Gachanja. Moses hails from Kenya and delivered his icebreaker (first) speak this week. Wow, did he have a story to tell and with the delivery one would expect from a much more experienced speaker. We are anticipating great things from this guy!

06.01.2022 When you come to a Toastmasters meeting, you not only learn stuff, you get entertained! Here is Jonathan Lee giving his humorous take on motherhood. We also heard a speech on how Mindfulness impacts the brain, and a summary on the book Artists Way which inspired the writing of the best seller "Eat, Pray, Love". The theme of last night's meeting was "Chaos" which led to a very entertaining Table Topics session (impromptu speaking) with challenging questions posed to individuals such as "Which do you prefer, Anarchy or Dictatorship?". Isn't it about time you got out of your comfort zone? Come to our next meeting on Tuesday, July 21st 7pm.

03.01.2022 Have fun , learn skills, meet great people. Our 26th birthday celebration as WA's largest Toastmasters club is not to be missed!
