23.01.2022 October 10th - World Mental Health Day This was a tricky one to select a flag for. I considered the Hum an Rights flag but that wasn't quite right and so I settled on the Smiling Face flag.... I hope everyone reading this is "OK".

22.01.2022 September 8th Today is International Literacy Day. I had a choice of flags - United Nations, flags of the world, Smiling Face but I settled on the Equal Rights flag because the ability to read and write, to a certain extent, equalises everyone.

19.01.2022 July 21st Today is the anniversary (in Australia) of the Apollo 11 moon landing. And so of course - the NSAS flag is flying.

16.01.2022 July 15th. Today is "old mens" day in Kiribati and so the Kiribati flag is flying for the second time this week.

13.01.2022 August 1st. Today is World Scout Scarf Day and so I am flying the Scout flag. Scouting gets some bad press because of the inappropriate actions of a small number of leaders. For me though, Scouting was my life as a kid. I was not into sport - I put everything into Scouts. I joined when I was 11 and went right through to get my Queens Scout Award (and the Gold and Silver Duke of Edinburghs Award) I have to say I had a great time and learned heaps of stuff I still use to this ...day. I was a member of 1st Mill Point Scouts in South Perth.

12.01.2022 August 2nd. USA flag is flying On this day in 1776, the United States Declaration of In dependance was formally signed. 1776 Formal signing of the US Declaration of Independence by 56 people (date most accepted by modern historians)... The declaration was drafted by Thomas Jefferson and edited by the Committee of Five headed by John Adams before being further refined by Congress. It was first printed and disseminated by John Dunlap in Philadelphia and then sent across America. A copy reached the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army George Washington who read it to his troops on the 9th July. The engrossed version of the Declaration with its signatures was requested by Congress in 1777 and it is this copy that resides on display in the National Archives. By 1820 the document was already showing some wear so an engraving was made and it is this engraved image which is now the mostly widely known image and that pictured here.

05.01.2022 October 16th Today is World Food Day. Since so many people eat fast food, I am flying the McDonalds Flag as it is the only food related flag I have except for Coca Cola and Pepsi which aren't really food. The McDonalds flag was given to me by a store owner when he replaced it with a new one.
