20.01.2022 Is solar still vaible without the govt feed in tariff? The short answer is yes however you would not necessarily still need the same size system. With minimal incentive now for power you put back into the grid (6 to 8 cents from some providers). The best way to get your moneys worth is to buy a system that only produces the power you would use. If your pay 21 to 26 cents a kw then any power you save is a great return.

20.01.2022 Roads that charges cars as you drive over them has been approved for testing in England. Just imagine if this was combined with solar roadways (roads made of solar panels). http://mashable.com/2015/08/17/electric-car-charging-uk/

20.01.2022 Have you had you solar system for 2 years? Now is the perfect time to book a Test, Tighten, Clean and safety check. This will ensure that your system is running effectively and safely. This is only $220.00 . To book call 07 5539 6820

19.01.2022 Most people are not aware that the current Solar rebate system STC's fluctuate like the stock market. So as much as the current Govt can not turn people against solar as they are trying to do. Every time they go public in attacking renewable energy they do this to shake the confidence in the industry to lower the rebate & investment. It is well known that the coal and oil industry is heavily subsidised so they have no right to point at solar & wind. The coal industry has beg...un its death spiral so they are spending large amounts of money buying politicians, the truly tragic part is just how many poly's are for sale. The coal and gas industry can barely hold back the tide now. With solar rapidly increasing in efficiency every year and batteries on the cusp of revolutionising the industry. I cannot see any chance of coal and gas competing because even investors now know that solar and wind make better profits. It seems to me all Poly's can do now is screw everyone over now in trying to delay the inevitable energy revolution.

19.01.2022 Germany had 80% of its power by supplied by wind & solar on Sunday around noon. They are producing energy at only 10 cents a kwh. Pity Abbott is funded by oil, coal & gas or Australia could do the same. #climate #renewables

16.01.2022 Hey heres a few good idea for the plumber in you.

15.01.2022 'Solar Is For The Rich' Myth Well And Truly Busted Solar power for the rich a myth The anti-solar brigade is running out of ammunition after yet another popular myth - that rich city dwellers represent the majority of solar installs - has again been shown to be completely and utterly false.... In a submission prepared by the Rec Agents Association (RAA) to the Climate Change Authority in relation to Australia's Renewable Energy Target review, an analysis of postcode locations of solar electric and solar hot water system installations found most systems (53%) were installed in regional and rural communities with only 43% installed in the major capital cities. Solar power uptake amounted to 13% in the major capital cities of Australia and 21% outside of the major capital cities. Furthermore, the suburbs with the highest income levels did not correspond to those with highest penetration - in fact, the opposite was more likely. "A broad range of communities have accessed solar under the RET scheme and the above figures explode the myth that the RET is supporting metropolitan middle class welfare and is evidence of the RETs equitable effectiveness," states the submission. Echoing sentiments expressed by others, RAA also believes the RET review should be extended from 2 to a minimum of 4 years as the current 2 year review increases investment uncertainty for the renewable energy industry. The RAA warns against changes to the RET due to the uncertain nature of the electricity market. For example, while there has been a reduction in mains grid energy consumption in recent years, Australia is about to enter into an El Nino weather pattern that will likely increase electricity use due to warmer temperatures and also reduce the level of rainfall, which would impact hydro generation. RAA's response to the Climate Change Authority's Statutory Renewable Energy Target Review can be viewed here (PDF). The REC Agents Association (RAA) was established in late 2011 and represents agents registered with the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) that creates Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and other environmental certificates.

12.01.2022 Tony Abbot wants to setup a department so we can complain about wind farms. Pity he does not want to do the same for fracking which is destroying our water supplies.

10.01.2022 Thanks to Wilderness and Urban Survival. This is a good use for the solar panel used on the huge amounts of garden LED lights around, coupled to a portable radi...o that runs off 2 or 3 AA cells. What you will need: 1. A portable radio, AM/FM or DAB, (2AA or 3AA battery type). 2. One 4 or 4.5v 80 mA solar panel, prised off from a Solar Light. 3. Ideally a BAT43 Schottky diode or Silicone IN4001 (more voltage loss) 4. Soldering iron, solder and red and black cable 6" lengths. 5. 2 or 3 NiMh rechargeable batteries (NiCd are ok but not as good) minimum capacity 800 mAh per battery. Optional - heat shrink sleeving, Adhesive foam strip. This is a very quick project, that can be made in about 2 hours. Instructions: http://bit.ly/166K5jE
