17.01.2022 A Grade Cricketer of the Year Perrin Quartermaine 644 Points Getting fed up of writing stuff about this bloke. He does stack up most of his points in this category from his catching ability. I mean if you field yourself in the easiest position of course you will take a lot of catches, well except for when we play Cuballing in Williams. In all seriousness well done Perrin, we would like to congratulate him on his country XI selections these last 2 years and winning the country cup with the invitation XI.

16.01.2022 90s night is in full swing- live music has just cranked up

15.01.2022 B Grade Batting Average Scott Fowler 34.80 Average Barry has been an absolute horse this year, taking on the role of B grade captain. He along with other senior players like Bernie, who is great to have around the club again, have helped the young cricketers develop and their improvements throughout the year was very noticeable. It was nice to see Barry get a bat this year after being lost in the A grades strong batting line up. This award is very well deserved and it’s good to see there is life in the old dog yet.

14.01.2022 Club Person of the Year Nita Ackland There were a lot of nominations for this award with Ian, Brian, Gayelle, Bernie and Scott all getting votes but this years award goes to Nita Ackland. Nita has gone above and beyond with everything she does around the club will to help out everywhere and anywhere she can. Mitchell has become a big part of the B grade and his cricket skills developing at a rapid rate. With that comes keeping the B grade blokes in order with afternoon tea ...prep and cleaning up after them, Nita is always there to keep them in order. Nita also does all the leg work in keeping the juniors running with organising all the social media, arranging afternoon teas for under 13s, assists coaching the under 8s, sorts all the wind ups and awards. Really not sure how she finds the time to do all this but she seems to manage with not problems. This is a really well deserved award Nita and we very much appreciate having you around the club.

12.01.2022 Come on down and join in the fun

12.01.2022 U/21 Player of the Year Nick Corner Last years grand final player of the game had another very good season. This is his last season of being classed as ‘young’ and actually qualifying for this award. He seems to have escaped any apprentice duties with Tom Munns stepping up to the plate for those tasks. Noodle has hit 321 runs, taken 10 wickets and 3 catches this season. He is becoming a chip off the old block with increased alcohol intake and gaining a thicker set as the season has gone on. Not sure this impending quarantine will help causes going forward.

12.01.2022 PERRIN HAS JUST WON THE TOSS! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!

12.01.2022 Reminder that our AGM is at 6:30pm tonight at the Duke. Please send apologies to Gayelle or Pete.

10.01.2022 Hi all, the under 13 wind up will be this Sunday at 10:00 with a bbq after. Bring down your cricket gear for a parents vs kids match if the weather permits. See you all there!

08.01.2022 Towns Cricket Club AGM will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday 22 July at The Duke. Please send apologies to Peter Baker or Gayelle Quatermaine.

07.01.2022 B Grade Cricketer of the Year Ben March 638 Points The second time this guy has made the awards proceedings but this is definitely a well deserved award. There’s nothing Marchy can’t do, he does it all, bats, bowls, wicket keeps, takes spectacular catches. It’s been really good to have him around the club, with his infectious laugh and laid back attitude, he’s a good role model for the juniors to look up to.

05.01.2022 It’s Quiz Night Time! To kick off the Pink Stumps weekend fundraising for the McGrath Foundation. Only 9 tables are available so get your mates together and get in quick and book your table today!

05.01.2022 B Grade Bowling Award Brett Coxon 14 Wickets It’s good to see someone who has tight lines and good length actually rewarded in B grade cricket. Brett had a very good season with the ball which is highlighted in his low bowling average of 11.64. He was pushed to the last game for this award as Liam Blechynden and Scott Fowler each claiming 12 wickets a piece. Brett during the year represented the Southern Outlaws in the Perth Veterans Cricket Association where he scored 65 runs in 2 innings and claimed a wicket in his 7 overs.

03.01.2022 Our fourth Ladies’ Day was another fun afternoon with a gorgeous bunch of women. These days always take a lot of help to ensure they run smoothly. Thank you to everyone who did their bit to help out including Jenny for the beautifully decorated biscuits, the fantastic bar staff who kept the champagne flowing, the WAGs and mums who provided a delicious afternoon tea, the dads and babysitters for looking after the kids so mum could have an afternoon out, yesterday’s decorato...rs and this morning’s clean up crew - huge thank yous to you all Thanks to Narrogin Amcal Chemist, Davrey Growers, SportsPower Narrogin, Duke of York, RJ’s Car Wash, Narrogin Motel, Kel’s Kitchen Delights, Narrogin Guardian Chemist, Narrogin Newsagency, RSM Accountants, FarmWorks Narrogin, McWhirter & Leong Accountants, Liquor Barons, SportsPower Narrogin, Emma Gent - Naturopath and Country Wide Insurance for their sponsorship of Pink Stumps Weekend.

03.01.2022 $1500 Towns Cricket club would like to again thank all the sponsors and donators from our pink stumps weekend. We raised $1500 for the McGrath Foundation. This money will go towards supporting breast cancer care nurses within the community. ... Can’t wait until pink stumps day 2022 Thankyou again to all involved

02.01.2022 Once again we would like to thank everyone for making this season a very memorable one and a special thanks to Brian Evans who does so so much behind the scene in keeping the club running along with Gayelle Quartermaine who has done a fantastic job as secretary and running our main event of ladies day so successfully for the past four year. Big shout out to Ian Anderton who is an absolute legend, does anything and everything that is required, thank you mate. In closing hope you all have an good off season and stay safe, try and stay on the straight and narrow, well as straight as Bubsie’s line painting #howhardisit

02.01.2022 A Grade Batting Average Perrin Quartermaine 47.90 Average Just like previous years, PQ has a habit of starting out of the blocks strong and then fading away come the end, I wonder if this is the case in everything he does? Prior to the Christmas break he posted scores of 112*, 112*, 66, and 50 which helped him limp over the line beating out Kendal (44) for this award. PQs highest score after Christmas was a scratchy 16 against Kukerin in nice summer conditions with the backing of a ‘healthy’ team behind him. While we are talking of that game, there was a very memorable father and son partnership for the 10th and 11th wicket.

02.01.2022 Towns CC Committee meeting FRIDAY 19TH FEBRUARY at 6:30pm at the club. AGENDA End of season / last games Handover ... Wind-up Off season General business Apologies to Pete or Gayelle.

02.01.2022 With five rounds down, it’s time to remind you about subs. Payment has been really good this year, but if you’re yet to pay the details are: Towns Cricket Club... BSB 086-852 Account 16-189-1879 Seniors $80 Social member $25 Juniors are free if registered for junior cricket with Narrogin JCC.

01.01.2022 A Grade Batting Aggregate Perrin Quartermaine 479 Runs Perrin ran away with the award beating out Peter Kirby by well over 100 runs. Had some very memorable knocks, always very dependable at the top of the order and fully deserves this trophy. Perrin has been around this club for absolute years from his apprentice under Butchy, he’s come along way to finally becoming the backbone of the club. Shame he hasn’t learnt how to clean up after himself yet. ... Aaron McAuliffe is this more like one of Perrin's shots?

01.01.2022 Event Announcement The annual Christmas Races after party at Towns Cricket club. Saturday 19 Dec... live music - Matt Debarro races and/Xmas attire welcome Keep an eye out for the Facebook event!

01.01.2022 B Grade Batting Aggregate Ben March 203 Runs It was so good to see Marchy not dropping anything on his feet this year! After 3 innings of not troubling the scorers, Marchy was in full flow come the end of the season posting 55 against Wagin in the 2nd last game of the season. That innings helped him fend off his two closes rivals for the award of Brett Coxon and Chooky Fowler.

01.01.2022 A Grade Bowling Award Ben Mcmillan 12 Wickets With Ben’s work schedule, he’s not available week in week out however when he is around, he contributes with both the bat and the ball. It’s nice to see a skilled bowler actually win this award as the previous years dobblers seem to take out this silverware. It was very competitive at the top with 5 players all within 3 wickets, Sweeney (11), Nick Corner & Max Evans (10) and Kendal (9). Ben had a very successful country week with the ball too, taking a further 7 wickets. This could have been a lot more if he was thrown the ball a little more after day 1.
