23.01.2022 Kaleb!! You’re an absolute champion! As part of Train My Brain’s mentoring program, Kaleb, his mother Sally and I, met with Andrew, manager of the Adelaide Airport. Andrew was kind enough to show us around the airport and teach us how our airport functions.... or was it Kaleb teaching Andrew?? ... What you need to know about Kaleb is that his brain works a little differently to the average Joe. Being on the Autism spectrum, standard learning is not always easy for Kaleb. However ask him about a plane, and you will witness child genius. Kaleb’s aim for this trip was to learn more about how our airport functions and to sight any future career paths for working within the aeronautical industry. Having dreams of becoming a pilot, Kaleb now has goals that he wishes to achieve, guiding him to work and build his way up in the industry, earning his way into the position of pilot! At the young age of 11, going on to 12, Kaleb has started his own successful mini-business making and selling airigami. Have a look at the link below, like and share this post, and help Kaleb build his exposure. Train My Brain would like to thank Andrew for his time, and wishes Kaleb and his mother Sally a positive and strong movement forward! Good luck Kaleb! Stay awesome https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/904961833175532/

07.01.2022 Auditory Processing Disorder... It’s not a learning difficulty, it’s a learning differently Using sensory learning, a child with ADP can bypass the auditory sense and learn using a visual/kinaesthetic method. ... Typically used with spelling, by limiting/removing the fault (auditory sense) when learning and recalling data, a child with ADP will then be able to learn just like those without the disability. Successfully used by Train My Brain to change the life of many children so far, please help us reach out to many more. Together we may just turn a child’s frown, upside down Please like, comment, share, and inbox. Happy to help

07.01.2022 **HOW TO TEACH A CHILD ABOUT MONEY Perfect for all teachers and parents Learn life and math skills: - Currency of your country... - Addition/subtraction - Money exchange - Hard work is rewarding - Save and spend, save more and buy more Materials: - Fake money (currency of your country) - Bank (Adult store for money) - Wallet (Child store for money) Description: Child earns money for achieving goals, learning and showing positive manners (adult to determine value of positive action). The child then stores the money in their wallet and chooses to save or spend their money for reward. Rewards may include iPad time, free time, purchase of a desired item (again, adults decides the value of reward). For example, Dave wants to play on the iPad for 20 minutes. In order to play for 20 minutes, Dave needs $30. He currently had $10 saved. In order to earn $20, Dave needs to complete his homework before 7pm. **Challenge: Dave can double his earnings ($40) if he completes his homework and achieves a score of 80% and above. Side note: Rewards of higher value to the child should be cost more as it will entice them to work harder. Have fun with this! Change what you need to personalise it for your child/class! And please feel free to comment any other learning ideas, the TMB community would love as many ideas as possible
