22.01.2022 Updated photos in link below https://www.facebook.com/646216432511472/posts/942283699571409/?d=n There was extenuating circumstances leading to the state of these hooves, so I ask you to keep your judgements to your self.... This is a 25+ year old pony with cushings, who had been my client for about a year. Then 2020... Bushfires and c19, and a remote location meant the owner couldn’t find anyone to tend to his feet for about 5 months, I know this to be true as I was the last person to do a proper trim in December 2019. He did have a neighbour have a bit of a go at some stage in between. The amount of growth for the time period is phenomenal. The pony, the owner, and myself are very happy with the results.

17.01.2022 Should we be questioning "Camped Under" as a conformation? In my experience camped under is inherently concurrent with pathology along the Dorsal Myofascial lin...e and Negative Plantar Angles, making it, in my opinion, an Antalgic Posture, meaning "away from pain". This posture could prove to have morphological effects on the hoof, or vice versa and in my experience farriery intervention can also directly affect this posture. More information in the captions. 12.01.2022 I just want to touch on the importance of a soft, low key approach to first trims on foals. This little colt received my gold star, best horse of the day award for how well he behaved, he was attentive and curious, at one stage nuzzling my ear. It is paramount to be gentle, the growth plates are open, and the musculoskeletal system is vulnerable to damage from a combative approach. At a previous visit I had put a soft rope around his chest and bum, and gently checked his movement for a few minutes while I stroked his neck. When we decided we’d give him his first trim, we again employed this technique. It was an enjoyable and stress free event for everyone, we kept the trim short and sweet, and laid down some great foundations for this little man’s future.

09.01.2022 Great post from Aurora Equine in Tasmania, why is my horse sore? https://www.facebook.com/333331170454637/posts/995797467541334/?d=n
