19.01.2022 ULTIMATE BASKETBALL LEAGUE SEASON 8 ROUND 7 Parramatta Wildcats vs Parramatta Lions... The battle of the Parramatta’s closed out the ROUND 7 action with the Wildcats going up against the Lions. The Wildcats size advantage was clearly causing some disruption in the Lions offensive game early in the game as the length and height was resulting in a ton of missed shots and turnovers as the Wildcats shot out to the early lead, 30-17. The Parramatta Lions were able to make the adjustments early in the second period and started to make the game more competitive. Getting the lead back to single digits through moments in the second period with Daniel Goldrich and Liam Buchannan leading the way. Back to back baskets from Goran Veg putting the Wildcats up 12 before the half, 46-34. After a competitive first half the Parramatta Wildcats were ready to show the young Parramatta Lions why they were coming off back to back championships as they stepped their game to another level through the 3rd period. Led by Cameron Day the Wildcats jumped out on an 18-3 run as they went on to outscore the Lions by 17 in the 3rd period, 77-48. 10 minutes of basketball remained and the Lions continued to fight through this last quarter but the Parramatta Wildcats had put themselves in a dominant position in this one to come away with the W. 16.01.2022 ULTIMATE BASKETBALL LEAGUE SEASON 8 ROUND 7 CrossXOver Kings vs SBI White... A tall order for the SBI White in this match up going against the undefeated CrossXOver Kings who were boasting quite a height and experience advantage in the game. From the tip the Kings were piling the points on the score board and the lead jumped out to double digits fast. Saimone Tuedrea was able to knock down a couple of triples for the SBI team but the lead was heavily in the CrossXOver Kings favour, 40-12. SBI White started to gain a little more confidence defensively in the second period but they continued to struggle to score the basketball and have any effect on the differential on the scoreboard. The Kings scoring may have slowed down but the lead was still substantial at the half, 63-20. As the second half was underway the game looked to be a little more balanced in regards to the scoring not being so one sided. The damage being done through the first half though as the lead remained very large in favour of the Kings. The 4th quarter was nothing but a formality but the players on the floor definitely put on a show for those in attendance as the Kings had somewhat of a dunk contest through the end of the game, putting an exclamation mark on the big win, 123-42. Top Performers; Cooper Wilks 26 Points and 12 Rebounds Saimone Tuedrea 13 Points

10.01.2022 ULTIMATE BASKETBALL LEAGUE SEASON 8 ROUND 7 Venoa Tribe vs SBI Black... A big match-up between these 2 teams with SBI Black looking for another win and Venoa Tribe coming into this having played on Friday night to make up for ROUND 1. Both teams going back and forth early before the Venoa Tribe took control of the game on an 18-3 run and taking a double digit lead. 12 point in the final 2 minutes of the quarter really pushed the lead out, 34-16. A ton of turnovers hurt the SBI Black late in the 1st period and it was something they vastly improved on in the second period as they competed much harder and efficient in the second period. Although the SBI were taking care of the ball much more they still did struggle to stop the Venoa Tribe from scoring as the lead was up to 25 at the half, 59-34. After a competitive 2nd period the Venoa Tribe started the second half with intensity on the defensive end unlike anything we had seen thus far in the game. Locking down on one end and scoring in a variety of ways on the other the Venoa Tribe blew the game out to a place of no return, 88-47. Christian Maran bringing the energy on both ends of the floor whilst Emmanuel Lueth was a walking bucket all game. Although Venoa Tribe dominated the game but Savi Teuhema had a nice game for the SBI Black in the blow out win for the Tribe, 111-72. Top Performers; Christian Maran 22 Points and 15 Rebounds Savi Teuhema 22 Points and 9 Rebounds

09.01.2022 UBL YOUNG GUNS GRAND FINAL KBC vs CENTRAL COAST CRUSADERS After an outstanding season it was only fitting that the 2 teams squaring off in the finals were the 2 most dominant teams all season. KBC going undefeated through the season and Central Coast Crusaders coming in on their debut season in impressive style. ... As expected the game was quite a defensive grind from the tip off as both teams were locked in defensively and the points were very hard to come by as both teams were missing a number of shots in the opening period. KBC getting the best of the Crusaders in the later stages of the 1st period with a 13-2 run to take the lead after the opening 10 minutes, 19-9. The low scoring nature of the game continued through the second period as the missed shots and turnovers were piling up on both sides with the tremendous defence being played. Hugo Perrione doing as much as he can for the Crusaders to keep them in the game as the lead was cut down to single digits before the half, 27-21. Just as they have done all season the KBC started off the 3rd quarter with their intense defensive pressure and surgical offensive ball movement. Lead by Andrew Kim and Brandon Kang the KBC were able to take control of the game once again by double digits and as the quarter went on they were able to push the lead out to 19 entering the last quarter of the season, 47-28. Only 10 minutes remained before we would have our champions for the season and the Crusaders were not ready to give up their shot at the chip just yet. An unbelievable 18-3 run by the Central Coast Crusaders cut the lead down to 6 points with 2:21 remaining in the game and all of the momentum was heavily in their favour as KBC had no answer up until this point in the period. Despite this inspired effort by the Crusaders they did not have enough left in the tank to put them ahead of the KBC who put in enough work through the first 3 quarters to hold out the Crusaders late run and once again crowned UBL Young Guns Champions, 53-48. Top Performers; Brandon Kang 13 Points, 9 Rebounds and 5 Steals Ben Killen 8 Points and 10 Rebounds

02.01.2022 ULTIMATE BASKETBALL LEAGUE SEASON 8 ROUND 1 (CATCH UP GAME) Venoa Tribe vs Parramatta Lions... Catching up for a missed game in ROUND 1 the Venoa Tribe and Parramatta Lions battled it out for some Friday Night UBL action to make up for the missed game. Both teams started off the game hot with baskets being exchanged through the first 6 minutes of game play. Venoa Tribe closing out the period on an 11-0 run to take a 9 point lead, 29-20. The momentum from the end of the first period carried straight into the second as the Venoa Tribe continued to blow the Parramatta Lions off the floor and quickly established a large double digit lead. Gum Majak leading the way for the Tribe as he looked unstoppable in the paint as the lead was up to 28 before the half, 55-27. After a very low scoring quarter the Parramatta Lions were able to string together made baskets once again and began to build more confidence on the offensive end. Venoa Tribe however were also very efficient in the 3rd period and had their best scoring quarter as they piled on 38 points in the 3rd period alone. A huge lead in favour of the Venoa Tribe meant the 4th quarter was a bit of a formality but this did not stop both teams from piling the points on the scoreboard. Parramatta Lions continued to improve as the game went on but so were the Venoa Tribe who put in enough work early defensively to lock in the win at the end of the game, 120-76. Top Performers; Gum Majak 29 Points and 15 Rebounds Kooper Buchanan 25 Points, 5 Rebounds and 4 Assists
