24.01.2022 A new year, a new look, a new logo, a great future

22.01.2022 Last Monday, we took VIolet for one last ride at the Eastern Creek Raceway. VIolet has had an amazing career, setting a World Record in 2018 and achieving 2nd place in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2019, and it was only fitting that we drove her one more time before retiring her. It was a bittersweet moment for the team, with this track day being a send off for not just VIolet, but also several members who had reached the end of their Sunswift career as well. We'll... also be taking a bit of a break from social media for the rest of the year. However, Sunswift isn't done just yet! Stay with us as we begin work on our new car in 2020, under the new Vertically-Integrated-Project structure. 19.01.2022 After all his years of hard work and dedication to the team, we'd like to thank our 2019 Project Manager, Matthew Holohan, as he officially retires from Sunswift. Having been a member of the team since 2016, Matt was heavily involved in the manufacturing of Sunswift’s sixth-generation Cruiser class car, VIolet. Since becoming project manager in 2018, Sunswift has achieved multiple accolades; including setting a Guinness World Record in 2018, crossing the finish line first i...n Cruiser Class, and finishing second (Cruiser Class) at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019. From all of us here at Sunswift, thank you Matt for all your hard work and dedication to the team! It has been an honour working with you! #unsw #unswengineering #sunswift #thankyou #projectmanager

19.01.2022 We've safely arrived at UNSW! Our Bridgestone World Solar Challenge campaign would not have been possible without many people. Firstly, we're really grateful to our university UNSW for continuing to faithfully support us financially as well as emotionally since 1996. Last but not least, we're also thankful to you guys, for supporting and following us through our social media channels. Truly, Sunswift is more than just a solar car racing team. #unsw #sunswift #solar #VIolet #bwsc19

06.01.2022 During our arduous journey from Darwin to Adelaide, VIolet was accompanied by 5 cars carrying our Race Team members. Good communication within the fleet of vehicles was essential for them to reach the control stops on time, and this would not have been possible without radios provided to us by our sponsor, Benelec. We'd like to thank them for sponsoring us in 2019, as they have played a huge part in helping us to achieve success this year. Check them out by visiting their Facebook page or their website: https://www.benelec.com.au/ #sunswift #bwsc19 #sponsor #unsw #unswengineering

05.01.2022 Here’s a bit of an early throwback to the BWSC earlier in October, featuring our members in shirts provided to us by Activ Embroidery Designs! We know it's pretty early, but we can't hold ourselves back from showing how amazing our Race Team looked in their polos and hi-vis vests throughout the race. Huge shoutout to Activ for producing them for us! Check out Activ’s website to find out more about their incredible designs! 03.01.2022 Competing in this year's Bridgestone World Solar Challenge has been an unbelievable and memorable experience for us, and we're glad to have achieved 2nd place! Congratulations Solar Team Eindhoven and IVE Engineering Solar Car Team for winning first and third place respectively!

02.01.2022 Unbelievable? Unforgettable? Incredible? We've run out of words to describe our success at this year's Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, simply because words aren't enough to express how we're feeling right now. 2 years ago, VIolet was forced out of the 2017 World Solar Challenge, due to a mechanical failure. Sunswift was down, but not out. We wasted no time in getting back to work, improving VIolet's performance tremendously throughout the past two years, setting a Guin...ness World Record along the way. This all led into this year's edition of the same competition where our car had once failed. There was an immense feeling of suspense as to how she would fare this time. However, there was also a rejuvenated sense of confidence among team members, after the numerous kilometers of testing done on VIolet which proved her capability and efficiency. The journey from Darwin to Adelaide wasn't an easy one, with strong winds and dust storms standing between us and the finish line. In the end, our perseverance and hard work finally paid off, and we secured a 2nd Place finish. It was a fitting farewell for our most ambitious solar car yet. Mark our words, we will be back for the 2021 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, aiming right for that gold medal. #unsw #sunswift #bwsc19 #VIolet #unswengineering
