11.01.2022 Anzac Day is one of Australias most important national commemorative occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. 'ANZAC' stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. During World War One, the friends and families of soldiers and community groups sent food to the fighting men. Due to the time delays in getting food items to the front lines, they had to send food that would... remain edible, without refrigeration, for long periods of time that retained high nutritional value; the Anzac biscuit met this need. The biscuit was first known as the Soldiers Biscuit. The current name, Anzac Biscuit, has as much to do with Australias desire to recognise the Anzac tradition and the Anzac biscuit as part of the staple diet at Gallipoli. 04.01.2022 My name is Mizuha Nagahori. You can call me Mizu. I am from Japan, and I am a student of Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. I major in Theory and History of European Art. In addition, I studied English at UNSW Global. I am going to be a Japanese teacher for elementary school students in a private preparation school in Japan next year. This is the main why I chose to do my internship at an education organisation. Today was the first day of my VETEA internship. The aim of my i...nternship is to improve my English-speaking skills, gain business skills and business etiquette knowledge, and to learn the difference between the Australian and Japanese style of business. I have been looking for an opportunity to not only learn English but to use English in a real-world setting. Through my university program, I found this internship. I can communicate with many people who come from different backgrounds in Australia. My university offered a wide range of options and I chose the VETEA internship in Australia because I wanted to broaden my perspectives, improve my skills in a new business environment aboard and I believe this is the best choice for me.
