25.01.2022 You can give "More for Raw" supplements as a tasty treats as well. Norman loves them.

23.01.2022 The difference in cost between the commercially made "raw" patties and the home-made "raw" patties is at least $4-6 a day for 20 kg dog. If you make your own dogs food you save around $35 per week. And, what is even more important, the quality of the meat and other important ingredients is much better, same with the risk of contamination of the ingredients that can potentially cause intestinal infection in dogs. "More for Raw" workshop will provide you with a free diet plan on how to prepare your own balanced and complete "raw" dog food. Preparation will be explained step by step in the relaxed and enjoyable environment of New Farm Library Meeting room, held on 26th January at 5:30pm.

18.01.2022 Skin diseases account for more than 50% of all presented problems at vet practices. Out of that 10% are due to food allergies. Some breeds of dogs are more prone to dietary allergies. Signs of allergy can be seen as early as one year and sometimes dogs will consume an offending allergen for two years or longer, before showing any clinical signs.

17.01.2022 Weighing your dog can provide you with valuable information about your pet's health and current feeding plan. However, it is not always the best way to see if s/he is at a correct weight. As muscle weighs more than fat, stronger and fitter dogs can weigh more then a similar non-active dog. A more effective method of checking your pet's weight is through a body condition score (BCS). A BCS of 0 to 4 is thin, 5 is ideal, 6 to 9 is overweight, 9/9 is obese and 1/9 is emaciated. Private message us if you find that your pet dog or cat has weight issues. Vet Nutritionist Clinic can provide knowledge and ideas on how to make simple changes to your pet's current diet plan to achieve and maintain an ideal BCS.

15.01.2022 My regular vet suggested seeing Malina when my 16 yr old Westie was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. I was concerned about feeding Molly renal tinned food...; she's been on Malina's diet for almost a year and is doing wonderfully. My regular vet was super impressed with recent test results... the CKD has remained stable. Thank you Malina :-) See more

09.01.2022 Diets for diarrhea in pets should be low in fiber. It is good to add fiber after the recovery. Mucosal cells of intestines require small amount of soluble fiber for nourishing. White rice is low in fiber and almost 100% digestible source of energy for dogs with diarrhea, so it is recommended. Fiber such as Metamucil can be added in amount of one teaspoon in diet of 15 kg dog to support mucosal cells during the diarrhea, not causing increased volume of feces.

06.01.2022 The consistency is soft. So we add 2-4 tablespoons of guar gum, Arabic gum or other types of natural thickeners. We got a thicker consistency.

05.01.2022 Pet parents that prefer to cook food for their furry children. This MHD loaf is a one day meal for your 25-30 kg dog. Chicken meat on bone, potatoes (white potatoes and sweet potatoes), pumpkin, silver beet (spinach), white rice (well prepared so no allergens and all anti-nutrients are inactivated), rolled oats, cauliflower (broccoli), herbs, turmeric and black pepper, eggs with cracked shells. All prepared in slow cooker left on low temp overnight. Bones removed. Mixed, add...ed guar gum and separated in 7 portions for 7 days. You can add some stock (no concentrated onion, please). I added one packet of organic Miso soup. Took the mixture out of the container, placed on baking paper, cover with egg and heated in oven until the egg is cooked and got this yummy loaf. Taste (this is modified human food so all ingredients and preparation is human grade and level). Remember, this is your pets dinner. Have it slightly under salted than over salted (healthier for bones and other organs). Dont forget to sprinkle More for Raw supplements on top (also made with all natural, human grade ingredients). Feed your pets with real food. See more

05.01.2022 STUDY SUMMARY FOR CIRCULATION What do dogs and cats really like to eat? Which diets make them healthiest and happiest? Despite the increasing array of conventional and alternative pet food choices, surprisingly little is known about how different types of pet food affect the health of dogs and cats, and about which diets they prefer. A new study aims to shed light on some of these questions. If you’re over 18 and have been lucky enough to share your household with a dog for a...t least one year, then you and your pet (via you!) can participate. All you need to do is complete a short online survey, at http://rebrand.ly/pet-food-consumer-survey. Most people take around 10 minutes. For accuracy, we need as many pets and their people to participate as possible - so please consider sharing this survey. The results will be published and a summary will appear on my site www.AndrewKnight.info in due course. Thank you! See more

04.01.2022 Year 2020 is almost here! Dr Malina wishes you a Happy New Year and is inviting you all to her new workshop which will be held at New Farm Library meeting room on the 26th of January, starting at 5:30pm. The topic is on "Raw" food for dogs, specifically, pinpointing the myths and facts about the safety of different types of diets. She will talk about the quality and cost of "raw" compared to other diets and the reason why "raw" is becoming more and more popular among dog owners.

01.01.2022 One way to treat territorial aggression behavioural problems in pet dogs is to reduce dietary protein content (feeding your dog low-medium levels of protein, instead of high levels). This was found in a study looking at how various levels of protein content would effect behaviour in dogs (Dodman et al., 1996).

01.01.2022 The next morning: remove all cooked bones that are still hard.

01.01.2022 Our busy team at Vet Nutritionist Clinic are excited to announce our new and one of a kind, hand-made "More for Raw" supplements. We created them to specifically match "Raw" and "Home-made" dog diets and to give a potent health boost for dogs fed with commercial dry and can food. Despite the claims about nutritional values of "Raw" diets, aimed to be based on a "full prey" theory, many veterinary nutritionist experts, including Dr Malina Fielder agree that they are not comp...lete and balanced. Raw patty manufacturers do not include parts of the body that are rich in many important macro and micro nutrients. "More for Raw" supplements are created to substitute all missing nutrients and micro-elements that would be supplied in eyeballs, brain, tongue, fur, nasal planum, intestines etc., the most preferred parts to be ingested by wolves and dogs in nature. Another important advantage of "More for Raw" supplements is that they are made from food, not synthetic powders. They are in their full molecular form, so readily absorbed in the intestines. The supplements are separated in two parts to avoid mixing competing minerals. Free dog diet plans are provided in every pack. We are selling the supplements in monthly packs: Weighing 450gr for Small (5-10 kg) dogs - $49.50. Weighing 600gr for Medium (20-30 kg) dogs - $69.50 Weighing 1.2kg for Large dogs (40-60 kg) - $89.50. We also have two-weekly packs for Large dogs, selling for $64.90. If you would like to place an order, please private message Vet Nutritionist Clinic with your details and the pack you would like to purchase.

01.01.2022 All what your 25-30kg dog eats in one week-7 portions (containers filled with 640-700g of food) of healthy, cooked broth with meat, eggs with cracked shells and vegetables (try to have a combination of 5 colours) with rice and oats-total around 4.5-5 kg (human grade ingredients), including added around 5 L of water (for cooking), with added More for Raw supplements, just before serving. Another ingredients for the same (one) week given for breakfast : 300g of fish (the amount is for 7 days)= cans of mackerel, sardines, salmon with soft bones or slightly steamed cod or other fish with no bones and 300g (the amount for 7 days) of chicken hearts, liver and giblets (preferably given raw, after 2 days in freezer).
