13.01.2022 The unshakable mateship between we Aussies and the Americans stretches back more than a century. And today there's no better place to illustrate this great mil...itary alliance turned love affair than Darwin. As we mark the ten year anniversary of the U.S. Marine deployment down under, reporter Amy Clements brings us a little bit of Top Gun from the Top End.

11.01.2022 #FunFactFriday - Submarines can be used to deploy U.S. Navy SEALs but in 2012 a rogue team of elite seals boarded USS Nevada (SSBN 733) and refused to leave. The crew of the Nevada managed to repel the seals (harmlessly) before the marine mammals did any damage to the sub.

05.01.2022 #BREAKING: West Australians aged between 30 and 49 will be able to access the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine from Thursday, June 10, the state government has announ...ced. STORY: https://ab.co/3x3xcdV. Mark McGowan said the expansion is a move to "build momentum" for the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine. People aged between 30 and 49 will receive the Pfizer vaccine at state-run clinics beginning Thursday, June 10, with people able to book from today. The AstraZeneca vaccine will be administered to those aged over 50. Mr McGowan said Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 16 and over were also now eligible to receive a jab. The state run clinics include the hubs at Claremont, Kwinana, Redcliffe and Joondalup. They will be scaled-up next week to administer the vaccine to the younger cohort, with appointments available at Claremont Showgrounds for those aged 30-49 from Thursday. "With more doses now becoming available, Western Australia can get on and get vaccinated," Mr McGowan said. Starting next week, Pfizer vaccines will be available seven days a week at the Claremont Showgrounds clinic, while the AstraZeneca vaccine will be administered between Monday and Wednesday. Mr McGowan said depending on the clinic, there would be between 700 and 2,000 appointments available per day. Appointments can be made online. Mr McGowan said by the end of June, 30,000 appointments would be available each week.
