21.01.2022 On Sat 9 Nov, we launched our yearlong project Stories Behind the Façade Exhibition at the wonderful Yarra Ranges Regional Museum. It truly felt like a celebration! Thank you Cathy Ronalds for capturing the event for us, you have an amazing talent!... We wish to thank all those who came to celebrate with us, especially as we know how hard it can be to find time these days not to mention this time of the year: Our thanks goes to our families, locally and those who were able to make the journey from interstate; our wonderful friends who were able to make it, especially those traveling some distance; all those kind people who's stories are at the heart of this exhibition and all the littlest of humans who came and were amazing and so well behaved! 19.01.2022 We are very excited to share with you (although not related to our paper-cut work) some great news! Aside from collaborating to produce 'wycinanki' paper-cut artworks, we have recently had a great opportunity with the opening of Rumble - Vintage and artisan pop up shop. in Olinda, to bring out of storage some of mum's jewellery work. (a little side project) This pop up shop is full of amazing creative work and collectibles from local folks, so please pop in next time you are ...in the hills, grab a unique Chrissie prezzie and support local makers! Just like with everything in our life we have an interesting story to tell, with this one dating back to pre WW II (please see 2nd image for story)! Jola's jewellery is inspired mostly by Art Nouveau and Art Deco period, made predominantly from vintage and new 'Jablonec' Czech glass beads often combined with Swarovski crystal, pearl, coral, natural stone and mother of pearl, including silver, metal or brass findings. if you want to know more or are interested in purchasing a piece (there are more then pictured) feel free to PM us, we will hopefully resurrect the long dormant jewellery FB page in the coming weeks . Xx Sam (Daria) + Jola (Yola)
